BALINTAWAK FUNDAMENTALS - Switching guard applications

In this video we explore the very fundamental technique and concept used in Taboada Balintawak regarding switching your guards. This is something that gets overlooked when it comes to more advanced students. However, training with this concept can help you immensely.

From a fellow balintawak practitioner.. you're doing great my friend. Thanks for helping the art. People dont realize the reason why the counters are always aimed at the head. Coz in reality, that's all you need to end the confrontation, just a single whack and then that's pretty much it.

It'd be great to see a video demo of application of balintawak in real life scenarios where the attacker (or attackers) is(are) not trained, empty hand maybe, knife, and stick, I couldn't find any. All the videos online show 2 practitioners of balintawak training in their own style. Thank you.

Dear pal first four strikes to the head or face then second two hits to heart and six left also to the face or head and heart.arnis actually the art of Bolo by Filipinos long time ago and nowadays they used it for several wars and it really kills because of that humble bolo...guyz you are lucky because you have learned one of the deadliest or the we can say the deadliest form of martial art since the world begun.if you're confronted by bolo like of jason Friday the 13th man you're in a serious trouble.

Hahahah U r clueless @ all. F u hv a bit of imagination. U cn use it for a while Look at the hand of the "guro" (guro = teacher) Its clinched elbows clipped to the side. Muscles is tensed. Potential energy s about to be pop. U r actually in a some what in a "boxing position" If u could only imagine that the stick is invinsible. It s actually a punch while holding a stick. U cn replace the stick w/ any hand weapon. Knife, bolo, or even bloom-handle, laddle, ballpen, rolled-up news paper, hammer, Arnis/kali/escrima is a close quarter combat art. U can actually come here let see if u survive a knife fight in 1 of our streets.
