@@KraxzLorcan It was not because the youth here in the Philippines have no interest in Kali. Kali is not just a martial art, it is an art of killing. A Kali practitioner can kill his/her opponent in a matter of seconds. That's how dangerous this martial art is. As a result, only the military and law enforcement officers in the Philippines were trained in this combat style because they were disciplined to use it. This is also the advantage of our soldiers in the battle field. But now that this is taught around the world, every special force will now have this in their repertoire.

@Ako si KUYA @ iba pa Idiot. I've been teaching Kali for years. I'm talking about the terminologies being used. Casually using "stick fighting" may seem harmless. But if you take in to account the core implications of words and how the understanding of people are on different levels, true masters who did the work and cultural research will have to be strict with using the right terms so as the core nature of the knowledge you're trying to impart will not fade away and is resistant to modification over time. The goal is to have that solidity, even hundreds or thousands of years after you're gone. Even if the art is updated. And before you get confused, being modified and being updated are two totally different things. Victims of terminological misuse by these fake masters are people who are just on the fence of this world. What's even more sad is that these victims actually think they know what they're talking about. Isn't that right? LOL.

Bobby was discovered and introduced to the world by Peter Ball of New Zealand. Where is he? Bobby didn't speak English, even when he started teaching for Peter in New Zealand. I witnessed Peter and Bobby in Phoenix AZ in 1992 when they came to see Sam Buot. Bobby had hair back then like in this video. Peter moved far faster and smoother than this other guy in the video. However, Bobby has done more to spread balintawak than any other master. Respect 👍

An arnis instructor told me that they do it like that in order to have the students develop the instinct of looking for any kind of weapon first, and if there is none, then that's the time to fight with barehands. If a Karateka for example gets attacked by a person who has a knife, his first instinct would be to punch or kick since that's what he's trained to do, and he'll be at a huge disadvantage if the guy with the knife actually knows how to use it properly. Take Jason Bourne for example. He used a pen against a guy who has a knife instead of fighting with barehands :)

Great job young man. Never quit the Dojo during your lifetime no matter where life takes you👊
true masters have great senses of humor.
I watch a lot of videos on Eastern martial art weapons. And they are often just people twirling stuff and throwing things into the air, trying to juggle the weapon like bowling pins. This is how you use a weapon as a weapon. Thank you.
My head was also moving while watching them striking each other. Lol!
During in my 1st year High School we were taught, how to use Arnis as a self defense, it was just the basic, This is the first time I've seen this intense strike and defense.. so great.
I still can't believe I accidentally hit this man in the face with a stick! Only because of his honor that he let me go....he knew i did NOT mean to! A truly Great man, now that i'm older I realize the sacrifices he has made in his life to make Balintawak known to the world outside Cebu! A wonderful man indeed!
Tuwang tuwa ang anting mga ninuno sana mas marami pang magbukas na magturo nito sa ating lahi. Ito ay ating kayamanan. Mabuhay ka po guro Bobby maraming salamat kabayan.
I loved meeting this man.
Woah..this is yet the coolest arnis demo I've seen and was uploaded a year after I was born.
The man is a legend
Such finesse & poise. Thank you sir.
Beautiful!
Love this video....
Awesome demo!
beautiful techniques
Grandmaster did not even blinked or sometimes never looked at the strikes while parrying.
Just brilliant 🤩
wooooow!!!! Fantastic technique!!!!
Beautiful
Bobby was discovered and introduced to the world by Peter Ball of New Zealand. Where is he? Bobby didn't speak English, even when he started teaching for Peter in New Zealand. I witnessed Peter and Bobby in Phoenix AZ in 1992 when they came to see Sam Buot. Bobby had hair back then like in this video. Peter moved far faster and smoother than this other guy in the video. However, Bobby has done more to spread balintawak than any other master. Respect 👍
I need this. I live in Canada I want to practice this for so many reasons. I will manifest this.

ito ang pinakaburito ko sa lahat ng martial arts... kaso wala lang master na tulad mo na nagtuturo dito samin...
Please be reminded that the flexible wooden stick is for practicing only. But in real life, we use real swords or knifes.

Laaa e Laaha ill lal law ( there's no God but the God) blessing for you
The weird thing about Arnis and Eskrima is that you start with weapons and then progress into bare hands. The highest level is barehanded. Totally backwards compared to systems like Kobudo.

thats how all martial art develop, remember martial arts were taught assuming that a farmer has pole/sickle/hoe, fishermen have oars and hooks back then... but youre absolutely right, hence the saying "Heart is a Spear" which translates to something like anything can be the spear(if a spear user)

Wow! so quick moves...
i had a spar with him once. and he lost. then i go back to sleep. its just a dream😂😂😂😂

He didn't loose because of Balintawak Eskrima or any kind of eskrima, arnis, or kali for that matter. He was stabbed with a lance and arrows. Please read REAL history.

@@MaharlikaAWA and who wrote that "real history ""you're talking about? History is always written by the winner. Spain ruled the Philippines for 3centuries, therefore they wrote about our history during their reign. When the American came they wrote history according to their point of view. Our history was base on foreigners bias.
