Thank you for this message. Though I've read this passage before, I never really understood who Balaam was and how God used him or why he disobeyed God and came to such a bad end.

Hi David, in Numbers 22:20 God said, "If the men come to call you, rise and go with them..." In verse 21 Balaam went but was he called or went because of his own will? I'm wondering if that's what made God angry. Please explain this. Thanks 🙏

Pastor Lance replies - What made God angry was Balaam's greed. So God warned him repeatedly via the angel and donkey thing, to only say what he was supposed to. Balaam could only prophesy what God said. But Balaam went on to give wicked counsel that caused Israel to sin.
