I need to start baking my clay in starch... I was making a figurine, put it in my mini over laying on the back on an aluminium surface... but the tiny dents and sharp edges in the foil slightly pressed against the protruding parts of the figurine, leaving marks that I'll have to cover up. It won't matter for this specific figurine, as the areas were going to be covered with "clothes" anyway, but that's a good tip for the future runs.

What do you use for rolling your clay evenly? I tried a pasta machine but get transfer colors even after cleaning it.

Just trashed 50 stud earrings. The backs were glossy and tops had prints from the tile. Thanks for the vid.

I am baking a flat surface for a journal. Should I let it cool on the tile when it comes out of the oven or remove it to another cool surface? Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply!🌷 I missed your comment. Yes, I do! 👌🏻 This oven is affordable and works great with small items. The only thing - it heats up and cools down quickly. And it has a very high-temperature spike when I turn it on for the first time if the oven is cold. After it warms up, I open the door for 1-2 min. Then I close it back, and the temperature stays steady.

Hi, sorry for the late reply! My pleasure! I always keep the tile inside my oven. I preheat the oven (and the tile inside) to the right temperature for about 10-15 min, then bake my items. 🙂🌷

I have read elsewhere that a flat polymer clay item will curl while baking, and needs something heavy on top to keep it flat. Is this true? I plan on making a theater dressing room diorama, and will be making a makeup mirror using polymer clay.

Dear Paulina, some jewellery we want to paint them eg. Acrylic Gold, should it be painted before or after baking

Hi, sorry for the late reply! It depends on acrylic paint. Some acrylic paints are backable, some not. I would paint a sample and bake it. To be sure that paint works well for you. Basically, I paint the clay after baking, but some projects need to be painted before. 🌼😉

I followed the instructions on the package but my polymer clay becomes hard. Not flexible at all. I use the clay to make miniature realistic objects. Have I done something wrong? I thought the whole point of baking is to harden it so it can hold its shape. Please explain. Much obliged.

Im guessing you meant 215 celsius, that is way hot and more than enough. depending on your clay it only needs 120 to 135 celsuis.
