Yeah Kevin, The mic isn't catching your voice very well... Having to really crank the speaker volume up to hear you... But WOW! A lot of info to process... Thanks for your efforts to get all this to the public.

Good video! The DD7 kit now comes with a counter shaft needle bearing. Uhh,,, pressed on the inner race to install the MDG bearing? I know it goes in easy, but that's still a no no.

Getting that (2-1/4") main shaft nut off must have took more than "just a little heat." I've broken three 1/2" breaker bars trying to get that damn thing off. It won't budge!

Hi Kevin Your videos are very well done. I have a 2009 Street Glide that needs a main drive gear bearing. Getting ready to do the installation within a week or so. The pullers and pusher tools you used. Not sure who makes them, can you recommend a fair priced puller/pusher. I'm not sure if I'll have to replace the main drive gear and main transmission shaft. It depends on my findings with ware marks from the needle bearings on the main shaft. The cost of some of these tools are steep, but I'm still saving if I bring it to Harley Davidson. It appears that a lot of folks are pointing their fingers at the automatic primary chain adjusters. I'm not sure I agree with that, I feel it's a bearing manufacturing problem. Then again I don't work on motorcycles every day. I've worked on the big trucks for over 30 years. I've witnessed failures just due to drivers. If you can bring light to my concerns. I would really appreciate it. Thanking you in advance Anthony C

My question exactly! Why is the other side of the race removal tool is such a secret? I've looked at other videos and they don't show it either! Harley charges way to much for one time use for most of us. I got a great certified tool maker in my area that charges a fraction of the cost. ( usually he will just make me the one part of the tool and leaves the rest up to me to cobble together) just like the inner primary race remover, it's $230+ at Harley but he made the whole tool for less than $100 and he bought it back since I only used it once!

+Prime Time I understand completely. I have honestly never had a problem with the dd7. Sounds as if it's not completely engaged or possibly the main drive gear isn't all the way in. When did you buy it? Where do you live?

+Prime Time it was in? So it was used when installed? Regardless, That's a DD6...different setup from the DD7 entirely but I've installed countless ones over the years. Drum setup and endplay in the pillow blocks can be a bit tricky. Fork placement can be a bit confusing too. Are you anywhere near Atlanta?

  • @brianzaborowski2724

Because most of the good trans oils are red ... like Redline Heavy Shockproof and I think Spectro 6-speed Heavy- Duty Platinum is too. They are both better for your trans and clings to the gears better with much better shear characteristics UNLIKE the Syn 3 motor oil HD tells you to use.
