Bait Stick Torture Test
Join us while we test out H&M Landing's Bait Stick Rental Rod - a Seeker 670 made in Orange about 6 years ago, an all fiberglass blank. We go up 10 pounds at a time to try to find it's breaking point.
Let us know what you think!

who needs a rail rod, when we have the seeker 670😎
670's are beast blanks! Thats why they have been used as rent rods for so many years! Fun video!

Thank you!
I tested my 670 with 45lbs and decided that was enough, but you doubled it and it still held. It's hard to shuffle with that much torque...redo this test in a rod holder
Steve, generally, when we are in the gym, we request a spotter to avoid injury. That Seeker rod gave you a good go. but that spotter? Choose wisely 😂

Woo!! Glad you liked it!
All glass rods are nearly indestructible, but I’ve yet to see a graphite composite rod be able to take the same amount of abuse. I got some old California Saber rods from the 70s that were passed down and they still handle boat flipping 20lb tuna.

Pretty impressive!
Impressive!
That was really impressive. I was worried at the 40lb mark 😂. I guess boat flips on 50lb ers is going to be a thing this summer
I thought that was episode of Jackass!! Lol! 😅

Right?! Haha
All my loner gear is seeker or calstar e/s glass rods. Don't have to worry too much about it getting broken. Try the same test with some of the modern composite rods. Bet the high sticking will snap them. Some uc rods will probably put up a fight.

Invoice seeker for this. This is the ultimate ad for them, hahahah. How old is that rod/blank and which factory was it manufactured at? 💪

How tall is the Seeker 670 rod
I think most of the rod failures are from people driving down the road in trucks with 8 foot rods in a 6 foot bed jumping up and down on the lip of the tailgate. It will fracture a small part on the rod and when you load the rod up on a fish they break. I think you proved that with a rod off the rack instead of a rod that's been pounded on a tailgate driving 70 MPH on our potholed freeways.
