Took me back in time, My hostel room Big poster of Faiz sb and Che, side by side and Tina Sani on loop on my small “ mono” tape recorder,,, Arshad Mehmood composed it to perfection that every word hit right note, I think like Madam Noor Jahan immortalised “ Mujh se pehli si Mohabbat” Tina sahiba has immortalised Bahar aayee. Wish I could listen to her live, singing Bahar aayee and Gar Mujhey iss ka yaqeen ho”. Red Salam for Faiz sahib for “carving” this beauty...love

Recently attended an event tributing Faiz which was held at GCU and met Faiz' family for the first time. Being a huge fan of Faiz, it was like a dream come true. A student recited this nazm there and i loved it. Search it on youtube and here i am, listening it everyday!

It was in fact in National centre at Melody Islamabad, now G6 Food street when as a college student, I had the golden opportunity of meeting that handsome genius, a chain smoker ,on the eve of a function there. I introduced myself w r t poet philosopher Ghani khan whom faiz Sb rated as a man of substance. Then I recited two lines from Urdu poetry ( now I dnt find write Urdu poetry). Yaro ne muhabbat Ka sila khoub dya Hy, Rotay hain akailay Mai sar e shaam shehr Mai, aik aas theree deed Ka palkon Mai chupa Kar, zinda Hy Asar aaj b gumnam shehr Mai. Pashto Ghazal I recited was; کله راياد شي هسی بی څه وجي، دا رایادیږی ولی بی څه وجی. د ژوند درانه او د ښار نړی دوړی ، زوړ می بی وخته نه کي بی څه وجی . Later on, I had the chance to compile a book on Ghani khan...The poet philosopher Ghani khan A pashtoon mystic in English language. The sublimity of such greats is beyond the imagination of quirks of this era who only glamourise the power corridors. Love for literature is lost in dust of sloganeering and fake journalism of TV channels . Regards. Asar Ahmadzay

Meeting this great legend of a man in Islamabad and reciting poetry near him..and that too in Pashto as well... Thank you for sharing this. Faiz’s poetry and Tina’s voice makes it sublime. Certainly no one can sing Faiz better than Tina or for that matter Nayara.

As she sings, real phenomenon of bahaar truly comes with high notes... Thanks Faiz sb, thanks Tena sahba

Feel nostalgic hearing Tina go beautifully sung Faiz.I wish there was a time machine which could take us on a tour of beautiful past to hear Tina sahiba singing Faiz to a mesmerized audience.But alas ! If wishes were horses then baggers would ride

Great Ghazal is written by Faiz sahib, and equally very sound Music by M/ Arshad, finally singing by Tina has produced A super gift.

Where is she.....

I do not know how you perceive this as a beautiful poem sung by a legend, or a Marxist Poet who saw injustice, and the blood of those who gave their lives so we can thrive. There are 2 sides of Faiz: one you are seeing here & then those like me seeing what Faiz saw. We lose each time.

This singing is simply Devine. One of the best ghazal of Faiz Saab. Every word touches the heart. I can't describe the joy of listening. I emotionally identify.

One of Pakistan's gem - Tina Sani. India can only drool to have talents like this.

Sir Faiz Ahmed Sahib a poet at the height of New Horizons, highly imaginative in narration. Having written master pieces in the realm of poetry has excelled many others of era. Love his poetry. Ma'am Tina Sani my favorite vocalist has done wonders to Sing with established notes of melody and rhythm. Her Clarity of voice really matters. Splended, Awesome and heart penetrating voice . Love the composition , poetics and melody. Salutations.

This is heavenly. Both the lyrics, song by Faiz Ahmed saahab, music...voice... Everything is magical. ❤🎉

Tina Sani sahiba ki sabse pehli bar Ghazal " Teri Nazar Hai Mera Dil Hai " suni , fir suni , fir suni aur kitni bar suni maloom nahin . Bass uss din se main bhi unkey chaahney walon me shamil ho gaya .

Wah wah kya baat hai. Voice and lyrics touch chords inside one.

I was just everage school boy and did not even fully understand poetry but I used to listen this and loved it.

Thank you for pointing that out. Arshad Mehmood, a musician and a composer besides many other things has played a very important part under the guidance of Shoaib Hashmi Saheb to bring Faiz Daheb’s poetry to people at large. Arshad is a great musician of his times and a wi safely human being.

Speechless to say something....no words....tremendous voice....words....expression.

What a masterpiece

Very few people understand that this is a ghazal about political repression and torture. I remember the MRD movement in Pakistan in the 80s and all those who recited this under Zia’s murderous regime (ghazal was written much earlier during the Rawalpindi Conspiracy Case).

Yes... I remember. I got admission in UET in 1980. Zia regime was at its extreme brutality. Military was ruling, civilian's rights were abducted.
