I converted my GT Aggressor XC2 last year, seems similiar to yours except mine has hydraulic brakes. It was my first ever conversion and it went perfectly considering the bike is over 14 years old. I've done about 700km and not had any issues. I use brake sensors and a shift sensor too which took a lot of time to get right. 20Ah battery and range is about 65KM on level 2 assist. I have the programming cable which I need to look into, level 1 is too low and level 2 is slightly too much assistance for my needs.

Right on that's awesome. This was my second build and should have gone smoothly until I had to start drilling the crank arm apart lol

I want to do a similar build but I'm pretty sure I'd want to add a train horn to the build. Do you think the main battery would be ok to power the compressor? Or do you think It would be better to add a dedicated battery for the train horn compressor? I'm looking specifically at the "HornBlasters Conductor's Special 228H Train Horn Kit" if you're curious to see what I plan to add.

Adding a train horn to your build will certainly be interesting :p Have you considered having a cannister of compressed air to power it? Maybe add a digital clock and some loose blue / red wires for aesthetic to the tank :p

You would need to convert 48vdc to 12vdc @25amps. That's going to need a hard-wired connection, larger wiring, and an inverter that can handle that. Each time you start the air compressor you'll drain the battery by a certain amount, which will reduce range.

Hello! Approximately how many kilometers can the battery last using only the throttle. Thank you in advance for your answer!

I have never tested but with pedal assist contributing quite a lot of assistance, i can get about 75-80km

Hey fella I don't know if you'd be interested in building a couple of battery packs for me, I'm not sure I could without burning down or blowing up my place, and just want someone to help me because of that, would you consider doing something like that??

@@waynekaczmarek946 hey wayne, I would be interested! I've actually just purchased a couple tools to improve on things I could have done better in my first battery build video. Where abouts are you located?

@@Voltermort I'm wanting to build out a mountain bike with an dependable motor, I've been looking all over and don't want something cheaper because I think things are going to be pretty rough in the coming months and some of these places that sell motors and such may have a hard time getting supplies, I'm just guessing

@@waynekaczmarek946 I'm over in Toronto Ontario Canada. Might be a bit of a hassle dealing with the border. Prices on amazon are pretty competitive to what materials would cost. Admittedly I could likely build with a higher build quality
