When I first heard them I was super religious and I was offended by the question "how could hell be any worse." By the time I heard this song when it was new I was an atheist and the phrase "more a question than a curse, how could hell be any worse" was one of the most profound things I had ever heard.

I've learned so much from these masters over the close to three decades I've been rocking out to them! Jesse is a very nice fellow too (and although I never conversed with Greg, he seems like he would be as well!), as well as an excellent abstract artist! :) I would also put Jeff Ott from Crimpshrine and Fifteen in the same lyrical category as Greg and Jesse!

When a PhD says, "nah I'll turn down my job as a professor offer at UCSD, and just sing in a punk band" you know he's legit, he's the only member I believe whos been with the band through out. I saw em on warpt tour I think, like 95 also san Diego Viejas, or Coors back then, theatre in 2001.

This is my all-time favorite of theirs, too, maybe because I relate so much since I live in the LA area. However the first song I heard was 21st Century Digital Boy on my car radio.

Dude I remember the fires 4 counties were on fire in 2003. Sanbernadino, Riverside, Oc and LA. It rained ash for 3 weeks strait like silent hill.

I love the "How Can Hell be Any Worse" as the climax in the bridge, a wink to their early stuff. I love little meta easter eggs like that in songs. It reminds me of NOFX ending "All His Suits are Torn" with the hook/chorus of "Leave it Alone".

Bad Religion changed my life and perspective. When people ask me what my favorite band of all time is, I say with pride "BAD FUCKING RELIGION", the greatest and most influential punk band of all time.

Best album ever. I'm a catholic too. Just shows you don't have to be atheist to respect this guy. And that I'm not a closed-minded fool.

This song comes to my mind every time a new forrest fire starts, which is more often that I'd like to admit. There's one going on in Canada right now and all the smoke from it is floating down to NY making the sky turn piss-yellow and making the air neigh unbreathable. Maybe it's a little gauche to think of a song as soon as something like this happens, but it gives me at least a little peace of mind.

what i love about them is that there lyrics are intelligent. a lot of punk bands dont have the most intelligelible lyircs, but there still good; but its the lyrical power of Greg Graffin that makes this music so great!

First off, awesome song. I love me some Bad Religion. Second off, whoever edited and made this video, just give them an award. I don't know which award, but give them an award of some kind. This video is fantastic and I really feel like it needs to be mentioned.

Battle of Los Angeles, the most peaceful , punk rock song to write about los angeles burning which it is right now, just not in visible flames.

Fu**ing awesome! Love Bad Religion: great lyrics, great music, great attitude. And live, they really kick a**! I saw them in a club in Hamburg with no more than 400/500 people. They created more energy than an atomic power plant!

This was how i I discovered BR - on a free giveaway Kerrang cd and fell in love immediately. What a band 🤘🏻

Was 14 when BR released their debut album, but I was into metal at the time. I just discovered them (beyond the radio hits) in 2023. Wish I was with them from the beginning and had grown up with them.

Greg is one of the best rock singer, of any subgenre, Period

the song seems prophetic, i hope it won´t come an earthquake extra. it´s horrible to see it in the news, how the eastcoast is burning in 2020. The Problem is, when the fire comes once in a 30 years or something, the forests can recover, but if it burns every year, the forests will vanish. that´s what makes me so sad. We are destroying the world of our children and their kids.

Watching the news with this song in the background is amazing, its like a real time video montage . For some reason i feel good and bad all at the same time. Its super sad that its happening but for some reason it seems cleansing and pure. Maybe its because there has not been a massive loss of life and everyone is getting out of the way. Houses and cars can always be rebuilt and new memories can be made. Out of the ashes it will all be rebuilt and look better then ever.

You can see the thick smoke in the skies of Northeastern Montana (Billings). I have not seen that much smoke in the sky from that far away EVER!

This was the song that hooked me into listening BR. Awesome stuff. 14 CD's later I still can't get enough.
