Your friend didn’t die from Covid. They had underlying issues

The one line that hits me in this song is "Just to settle a bet that could not be won, between a prideful father and his son." My dad and I had a turbulent relationship. Sometimes we would have periods of time where we didn't talk to each other and at one point it last almost two years. It was because of our pride and stubborness. We reconciled and then he passed away in November of last year. I know he loves and cares about me and I still love him. He had a lot of pent up anger and I don't think he ever managed his mental health in the best way. A couple months after his celebration of life, I had a dream about him. He was smiling, I ran to him and gave him a hug. I said I missed him and he said it back. Then he said that he had to go. It was bittersweet but I believe he's in a better place where there is no sorrow or pain.

Sorry for your loss friend. I find Bad Religion to be one of those bands that I listened to an loved as a kid, but now the lyrics impact me way more than when I was younger (I'm 35 now and a dad myself). They have a lot to say and it's usually very good stuff.

I remember the first time I saw Bad Religion on Vans Warped Tour back in 04' and I moshed my way to the front just to get close. It was worth it. When the started to perform "Sorrow" I saw and heard everyone around me stop everything they were doing and sang along. It was beautiful.

Same exact experience I had! Except I was in 5th grade and it was 09 Warped Tour.

This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it, especially if I'm having a rough time. The message of hope delivered in those harmonies is so moving. I only wish the song was twice as long.

Music like Bad Religion & other similar bands help to join the cultures, so they will never get the mainstream attention. They... (New World Order) want us divided.. just look at the racial issues pushed on TV.. Then see the interracial commercials pushed (as if we are all somehow wrong for forming relationships with friends of the same color) (I saw a Christmas commercial this year with every ethnic group at the same party) While I have zero problems with that, it's just not logical. (Am I suppose to feel bad) It's all for the same purpose. The media knows nothing but division so they can break up the culture. United we Stand, Divided we FAIL. Divide is the goal of the Elite, then system fail, then chaos. At that point is will be easy for them to destroy us so "they" can rebuild the world as they see fit. Many books published on this, but its hopeless to try an fix the problem.. the system is to big, the brain washing is done, now all we can do is hope for a few more years of stability. Peace

Met them at Warped Tour '97. Saw them, Rancid, NOFX, Bouncing Souls, Voodoo Glow Skulls and more. Absolutely amazing day for 15yo me.

i love how huge this band is, yet they're all really approachable and down to earth guys.

bad religion was/is one of my favorite bands of all time. i'm in my mid 30's now, and had my first bad religion record when i was in 6th grade. as a youth growing up in this sorrowful world, greg graffin's impact steered me in the right direction

Epic Song. The Beginning two verses remind Me of How I feel. It really speaks volumes of the world today. But it is actually a great song of Hope!

My dad was a hippie in the 60s and showed me bands like zeppelin, floyd, the who etc when I was a little kid. When I got older, I started burning him CDs of music that I discovered during my adolescence. I put Sorrow on several CDs and now it's one of his favorite songs :D

Love his voice! One of the best punk bands ever.

The subtle exploding noise during the chorus.....i like it.

My step dad liked these guys. Seen them rocking at a concert recently, only knew one of their jams ( do what you want) but the energy they had made a fan out of me. These guys rock!!

Its so rare to see a artist that actually sounds better vocally live than recorded.

Im homeless sitting here in a hotel right next to a military base, caregiver to a very ill the disabled son of a disceeced combat veteran who is also homeless and denied housing over and over by various state agencies, trying to keep him going in a world that doesnt seem to care. He is a savant musician, but the world doesnt seem to care about him or his gifts. He showed me this song , this band was his first influence, and tells me of his story and wishes for a kinder more loving world that cared about people like him. When every one lays down their weapons the biggest one , their selfish pride.

I've been listening to bad religion since I was 8 years old. My older brother gave me my first cassette of suffer. Been a huge fan ever since!

As a devout Catholic, I absolutely love this song. It is reminiscent of the Psalms and of course mirrors Christ's words on the cross: "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" One day, there will be sorrow no more - as sarcastic as BR's chorus was meant to be, I hear truth and hope.

Andy Mahasongkham Infected was the first Bad Religion song I heard. I then proceeded to purchase any albums I could find. When I was a freshman, the senior class had this ceremony that everybody was required to attend. They played Infected 😵 I wanted to start a pit.

I remember DISTINCTLY, working for at a shoe store and this song playing in our rotation and instantly connecting with this song. From the intro, to the vocals, to the drumline.... it all resonated in me in a way that i cannot describe. 🤘🤘🤘

After listening to BR, from a couple decade absence, in synthesis I can say he articulates well the struggle with the serpent of illusion. His soul is on the same journey as mine, to prove to yourself, not anyone else, that you have overcome the great illusion of matter and form, it can no longer hold you back. The essence of suffering is the ignorance of your immortality.

My dad just passed away. I remember in my childhood he would blast this out on his CD player and sing a long. I’m hoping to get this played at his funeral Gonna miss him

Bad religion is just that.. religion. This is by far the most iconic "punk" band that was and still are period.

Good to see the REAL version is still around, thanks epitaph records.

I remember the first time I heard the chorus in my earphones, going down in an elevator. I think everybody body else in that tiny cage noticed my amazement when that multi-harmonized part set in! Wow!

greg looks like a guy with who you can easily sit in a bar and talk for hours :)

My dad passed away this past year and this song always makes me think of him. The last phone call we had together was about what he wanted me to do with my life. He told me he didn’t want me to keep working these crummy jobs and wanted to have a better life....

Still so relevant! Stay vigilant!

Im a senior and this is my number one favorite song to this day and when i play this song every senior sings along but anyone junior or lower doesn't know this song, if you do your amazing

I saw this band in Brockton a few years back during nofx's punk in drublic tour, It was outside, pouring, and this song was playing, being a part of that muddy circle pit, singing these lyrics, truly felt like a religious experience, bad religion is fucking rad.

Ngl, Greg Graffin has been definitely *very* attractive back in the day. And the fact that he's not only a punk but also a professor adds to it.

Still one of the best, and most revelant songs ever writen.
