Bad Experience with Remicade (Infliximab) Infusion | My IBD Journey with Ulcerative Colitis

If you have IBD, the Remicade (Infliximab) Infusion Center at the Hospital may be in your future as a possible treatment for Ulcerative Colitis (Pancolitis in my case) . In this video, PART 2 of my discussion on Remicade, I talk about my two experiences at an infusion center, one of which being less than enjoyable. The major side effect I experienced during the infusion was a headache, but as I explain in the video this is likely from being dehydrated and on an empty stomach, experienced side effects

My wife has been on Remicade for the last 15 years, she started it when she was 18 years old and prior to that had been struggling at getting her Colitis under control for 8 years prior (diagnosed at around 10 years old). Prior to Remicade she had been bedridden on and off during flare ups, received multiple blood transfusions and had times where should couldn’t even walk. I can say with pride she has been pretty much symptom free for the last 12-13 years and all thanks to Remicade! She lives a completely normal life now and eats, drinks what she wants and receives infusions every 8 weeks. I highly recommend to anyone on the fence to try it. I wish you all the best of luck! 🙏🏻

Been on remicade for a year and a half. Started getting reactions to it during the infusion around the holidays. Full body itching from head to toe and large bumps on my forehead and small ones on my neck and back. They hooked up an antihistamine to the IV and it stopped the itching. Woke up with "burning leg" syndrome for a day which was rather unpleasant. After my last infusion, the bottoms of my feet were constantly spasming for a week and some change. Other leg pains as well from time to time. I'm talking to my GI today to figure out what to do going forward b/c I'm not a fan of this medication and the effect its having on my body. Everyone is different so your experience may differ, etc.

Got my 3rd one, now hoping that this time I will start feeling better. I have had enough rough times with this disease and so tired of it. My life got ruined by this uc, soo tired of flare ups steroids diet and all of it. I hope some kind of magic will happen and I will never ever have this crazy thing in my life again.👎🏻

There are natural solutions for not needing the remicade. Check out the properties of turmeric. It can only help you without prolonging its use. I had my first attack of ulcerative colitis in 2011. Since around 2012-13, I have managed my attacks on my own with a small recipe of turmeric.
