Dude I love your attitude, especially towards medications. I've been on this journey for 5 years, same diagnosis as you, and I've been so stubborn about not wanting to take biologics and trying to do everything naturally. Props to you for using them whilst still having the vision of being off drugs in the future. As for me, I have been symptom free for the last 6 months but my calprotectin came back whopping high so I have a colonoscopy in two weeks. If it's bad I'll probably give in and try Entyvio. Seems weird having no symptoms and such a high score, but don't really know what's going on till we scope it out.

    1) Really, really sorry to hear what you've been going through, but glad to know you're bouncing back. 2) As you segue into the business world, your language skills can be a tremendous asset. One suggestion, once you get to Texas, would be to reach out to the German American Chamber of Commerce in Houston and discuss opportunities to partner with them, especially with incoming delegations to Austin for the German Haus at SXSW or other events.

Maybe you should make a whole video just about your diet, what you eat during the day. I was diagnosed with pancolitis as well (week ago), luckily it was very moderate in my case but would love to see what people eat, what helps them etc.

Haven't seen you in a while, but today I got the Tough Break video on my list and thought he creating content again. Great... As I learned a video before "tough break" might not be the optimal reaction to this video. Well... I wish you health and all the best for the future. I saw you first because of the Germany content. It's always interessting to get another perspective to this country. Guessed so that this chapter is over. But I am looking forward to to see you badmouthing about Germany in your comedy program. Don't worry to laugh about Germany. We already had an interesting time with your comedy comander in chief who was also joking about Germany from time to time and we learned that Americans have an unexpected but interesting type of humor at their voting box. But I am quite optimistic you can be way more fun without ruining the planet. I believe in you! No pressure. ;-) Good luck for you and have a good time.

After getting pregnant with my fourth baby my Ulcerative colitis has gotten worse than it's ever been .. I've been informed that I need to do infusions to get back to remission.. it's been about a year and half of being in a flare up , was hoping to get back to normal with my regular medication which is Cortifoam, this works get for me usually because my colitis is at the end of my colitis mostly .. but now I need to consider this new medication, being infused with these immunosuppressant drugs .. I'm very concerned because I have four kids that get sick a lot during fall, winter and spring.. Your information on what to prepare for with infusions is very helpful for my mindset , preparing mentally for whats going to happen , knowing that these are possibilities.. thank u for sharing

    1) If you move to Austin, there's a vibrant standup comedy / improv scene there too. 2) I had never heard of FMT until it was in a South Park episode, so naturally I assumed it was a joke. I was flabbergasted to learn (from Wikipedia after finishing the episode) that it's real!

The problem is I keep throwing up every meal I have and the Dr's are stumped. Did you ever have nausea/throwing up issues and if so, what helped? Glad to hear you're doing so well :)

I'm on an a strict carnivore diet, combined with intermittent fasting (time restricted eating), and when I still get a severe flare, then I attempt a 2 or 3 day fast (depending on the severity.) It didn't cure me, but it keeps me in remission most (or half) of the time. But now most flares are mild (and short). Although I still get month long flares, and I still get severe flares. I think it was moving from OMAD to 2MAD that was made me have some really bad days lately. I am fasting right now, day 2 of ____ (tbd) day water fast. I never wanted to become a carnivore, but I really had nowhere left to turn, I tried everything and the new diet (along with intermittent and longer fasts) let me get control of my health back (mostly.) I think red meat and eggs are the least inflammatory foods you can eat (besides nothing at all.)

Hi, im currently in the hospital again after being home for a week and hospitalized for 24 days with a very stubborn flare that nothing seems to help. Ive been on Humira for almost 7 weeks now, I started off biweekly and while in the hospital in those 24 days they upped my dose to weekly injections but yet it doesn't seem to be working at all so im going to try xeljanz now once I get it this Tuesday. Im praying to God this is the one thing that is going to help me finally get back to living a somewhat normal life once again, ny question though is in regards to the diet while on a flare. They've got me on a low residue diet at the hospital, after being a liquid diet for a few days. I honestly don't know what of the foods im eating is good for me or not because no matter if im on liquids or on solid food, my bowl movements are still pretty much the same it's very hard to identify what I can and cannot eat because of this. I am so confused and frustrated. Some doctors say diet doesn't influence too much on this disease and others say it does. I know that with time maybe ill be able to identify the triggers, but how do I even start if its been so hard to get into remission. Every time im feeling a little better other symptoms pop up, something different together with the old symptoms.. I don't even know how to explain it exactly. They sent me home with prednisone, slowly bringing down the dose every 7 days, that obv didn't work for me, they have me on steroids by vein in the hospital together with antibiotics and iron infusion. I was diagnosed with mild uc back in November and now its severe, it progressed so quickly, has this been the case fr anyone else as well? Im going crazy here, I can't imagine how people have been able to live with constant flares for years, how do I manage ?! Ugh sorry everyone im just venting at this point but yeah if anyone has any tips ill take em!! Thanks in advanced!

@@Biophase there was a dietitian that passed by at the hospital but all they did was hand me a paper with a low fodmap diet plan and give me some protein smoothies from Kate farms. I’ve been discharged for about 10 days now and I’m finally better tho, I’m no longer bleeding and only going to the bathroom no more than 3 times a day with a bit more formed stools, I’m still not 100% and I’m always scared that anything might send me back. Im still sticking to the low fiber diet, terrified of introducing anything new.. I’m tapering down on prednisone, currently on 30mg and hydrocortisone suppositories. It seems to be working this time around better.. idk what finally helped just glad something did.. now all I have to do is try not to fall back into a flare, and deal with the ptsd and anxiety and fear.. this disease can be so unpredictable, but I’m hoping I can find the right lifestyle changes and keep up with it so I can stay in remission or learn how to identify my triggers so I can target them easier.. hope you find relieve soon, best wishes xx

hi... quite similar journey. I was diagnosed this early this year with mild UC. A month ago I got into a bad flare, diagnosed with pancolitis. 60mg of Prednisone, then hospital, now 30mg of Prednisone. I can't tell which foods are a trigger for me, because Prednisone helps during the day, do i don't have bowl movements, only in the evening, night and morning. I don't know what to believe, but so far I'm trying to adhere to whole food plant based diet, hoping it might help with microbiome. I'm actually eating a lot of fiber, but pureed when it's something coarse like spinach or kale. When I'm off prednisone, I'll definitely look into low FODMAP, eliminate and reintroduce foods back (I don't want to do that long-term, it's just to find out my specific triggers). now I'm not saying my plant is the best and maybe the science being whole food plant based diet isn't great (it's hard to tell which studies are actually relevant), but so far, it kinda makes sense to me and people tend to have good results with it. I'd say the most important thing though, is not to get overwhelmed and try diets out slowly... starting by safest foods and meals that aren't hard to prepare will ensure psychological stability, which is (in my opinion) the most important thing in flighting the disease. Without will and hope, I don't think I'd be able to get into remission.

@@ghost_of_a_dead_poet hi, I’ve been slowly getting better! I’d say the xeljanz has def really helped, I’ve had like two mild flares in the past like 3 months but I tested positive for c diff both those times so I’m pretty sure that was my trigger.. I’ve been trying to follow Kenny Honnas protocols. Not exactly to the T I’m doing it the way that it feels right to me even though it’s hard, also I started drinking cabbage juice almost two weeks ago, 32oz a day and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY! I stopped bleeding like two days into it, it’s kinda disgusting lol and I do get pretty gassy but it helps so idc, I’m aiming for at least 3 weeks of this. I’m also drinking kefir on smoothies every day and I recently bought digestive enzymes with pre and probiotics, started taking that today actually. Even tho im still positive for c diff (because insurance and pharmacy and drs office miscommunication delayed medication 🙄) I do feel better. I think the only thing really keeping me from having less bowl moments and more formed stools is the c diff. I also suggest daily exercise at least 30 mins and at least an hour of sun exposure. Good luck ☺️
