    Unfortunately, if there was any damage to the car, the exiting vehicle ( the red car) would be held AT FAULT! (VIC) This happened to me, same scenario, damage to my car, and Ins said Im at fault as Im supposed to 'give way' to pedestrians & bicycles on the footpath. I pointed out to said Ins co, no longer with them, that a cyclist on the footpath has to be 12 years old (VIC), OR being escorted by, mum or dad etc, didnt matter. My fault!! I argued the following: when someone is breaking the road rules, i.e. riding illegally on a footpath, how does that override someone trying carefully to exit their property. Too bad. Changed Ins co's who were charging excessively anyway.

    @@ScottsCarcameras Hi Scott. Firstly thanks for your vids. I enjoy watching them & try to be more cautious on the roads as 'others' dont believe the rules or the social contract, ie things put in place so that we can all get on together, dont apply to them. Names exchanged & provided to Ins co. Dash cam sent to Ins Co. Was moving at less than walking pace, because I cant see around corners. Bloke on his bike, moving fairly quickly on the footpath, banged into my car. I have the vid. Ins co said my fault as Im supposed to give way. My argument was 'happy to do that' for peds or cyclists using the footpath in a legal manner. And, at what point, does someone riding illegally on the footpath, he should have been on the road not the footpath, override what was construed as my fault! Ive been driving out of the same driveway for 25 years with zero incidents, until someone riding illegally hits my car. I did appeal the Ins co finding but to zero affect. Stay well & thanks for your interest. Look forward to more of your content. G

    Thanks , re your crash sound like you have poor insurance company and as the other party was not a driver of car that has insurances they did not want to go through hassle of suing the cyclist over a small amount so they just make you paid the excess time to change companies :) I had a similar thing happened many years ago when someone claimed I hit their car insurance company didn’t want to look at the dash cam footage. They were still new then and said I was at fault, I refused to pay the excess and said take me to court for it , and I’ll be cancelling all my policies I told him that the other driver was trying to scam it intentionally roll back into me , again because it was small damage. They didn’t want to go to the hassle of fighting it in court and wouldn’t take it any further a so I switched all of my insurance to another company , then a short time later they contacted me asking for the dash cam footage and if I would come and assist them in court because the other party is now suddenly claiming tens of thousands of dollars in damage after they decided they’re going to pay to fix their car and refusing to allow them to inspect the car. i said No too bad. You should’ve sided with me in the first place and this is gonna be a lesson. You’ve lost me for life and you’re about to pay a big time because you wouldn’t , help your customer , have a good one

    Um, no. Trucks are required to follow the road rules just like everyone else. They have to give way to someone already in the roundabout, just like everyone else does. A lot of truck drivers take on this dangerous 'might is right' attitude and often blast through roundabouts, just like in this video. This truck driver was in the wrong and if this behaviour was observed by a police officer, would have likely received a fine for doing what he did.

    @@curdnerdok you pull up a B double in one second because of a selfish car driver who also wasn’t in the roundabout when they both approached. It would be like pulling up a freight train to stop that truck. Car driver is just a selfish ass. Look at his other videos here on how he speaks to people Yea the truckie made a mistake approaching the roundabout too fast but he made the right call as a jackknifed truck would have most likely killed the car driver. There is no malice on the side of the truckie here the attitude is all with the car driver who should not hold a licence.

    @@omnipresent1215 Yeah well, I'd have to respectfully disagree with you there. The truckie had ample opportunity to stop and give way to the DC driver in the roundabout and chose not to. When you are this size, they need to approach roundabouts in such a way to anticipate the possibility that someone could already be in the roundabout and approach with an appropriate speed to stop. This one didn't.

  • @ScottsCarcameras

    @ScottsCarcameras

    13 күн бұрын

    Hi mate The answer pretty much comes down to end each individual clip. if you have an example i can explain that one , , but. It can be a combination of things , eg that the person submitteted the video only snet that part and sometimes when I ask them for the extended clip, you never get any replies. Sometimes they send just that but don't want to be seen on camera. So they either asked or cut out the video after they get out of the car. Sometimes the clips get edited because. You don't want to identify innocent parties in it or perhaps someone was hurt or in distress if it was just a Case of trying to shame the at fault party it would be left anywhere it can.

    Hi to explain for you , there is no such thing as a "feeder lane" that is whats called a Slip road and on all slip roads trffic must give way to all traffic on the road that lane joins , also you will note at 4:48 the give way sign and give way dash lines on the road that also show the school car driver they must slow and prepare to stop if need and give way to approching traffic :)

    The driver making the right turn into three lanes should have stayed in the right lane, not crossing over to the left lane, making the lane change later when safe to do so. The commodore, which registration number he displayed, did nothing wrong in making the left turn and staying in the left lane.

    Since people here don't seem to know the rules, I'll just say it; the Commodore has to give way, as they're entering using a slip lane. Both DC and the Commodore are allowed to turn into any lane, which is perfectly safe if the Commodore gives way like they're supposed to.

    I am going to say zis only once....when are we going to make 'new Australians ' take their driving and written test in English? If you cannot read a 'Wrong Way! Go Back!" sign in English then you shouldn't be driving a metal murder machine. Especially not on the wrong side of the road whilst you're relying upon GPS translation lag from English into Mandarin/Laosian/Vietnamese etc. If you are so tiny you cannot see over the steering wheel of your oversized family 'people mover' or 4WD I suggest you shouldn't be controlling said automobile. Now, I can only go with what I have witnessed myself but Asian women are the main culprits in this scenario I paint for you today. I've turned into side streets from main roads only to have my entrance blocked by a tiny Asian woman in a massive Land Rover or super sized grilled Honda Odyssey. The driver of these cars believing they are perfectly right to be there. These are dangerous and heavy vehicles. These little women shouldn't be allowed to drive them as they cannot control them. I would.lobe to see the results of a day of advanced driver training for these little women on their enormous tractors. I'm betting the tow trucks and local smash repairs would have a field day. These smaller women are better suited to smaller cars, Corollas, Mazda 3's, Rav 4's if it must be an SUV. LITTLE PEOPLE SHOULD DRIVE CARS FITTED TO THEM!!? I know this may sound bigoted or racist to some but I can only speak to what I've seen and I've seen a lot of Asian women on the wrong side of the road with no plans to correct their mistakes. Elderly people, of every background, are the next biggest danger. Forget the Ford Ranger and Aussie Dual Cab arseholes...well, don't forget them, you already know they're a danger to your life, but let's begin the re-testing of elderly Australia drivers and let's do it very soon. The good old "I hit the gas thinking it was the brake and then I drove through someones house" is becoming more and more common. Even as common as "I think he was trying to kill me on this side of road and I stay in my lane with no lights on...." You get the picture. Licences only to those who read and write fluent English. This will also remove illiterates from our roads and save lives. I know some of you may want to pile on and have a go at me for being 'racist' but I have known many Asian people in my life and they are far more brutal when it comes to assessing their driving skills, or lack there of, than I am being here. My point is: to deal with the process behind awarding a driver's licence to someone who doesn't read/write English, no matter their background, someone who is solely relying upon Sat Nav and a translation to get them where they're going safely, and a rise in the number of fatalities on our roads due to head on collisions. Many of these accidents are avoidable with better public service advertising by governments about the rules of our roads and a tightening of licence testing/re-testing practices. All tests in English for starters. And mandatory eye tests on a two year rotation.

  • @curdnerd

    29 күн бұрын

    No, cyclists can't ride on footpaths. From the NSW Road Rules (other states are probably the same or similar).. Riding on a footpath Generally, bicycle riders must not ride on a footpath. However, children under the age of 16 years can ride on the footpath unless there is a NO BICYCLES sign. Bicycle riders aged 16 years and over must not ride on a footpath unless they are: an adult supervising a child under the age of 16 accompanying a child under the age of 16 where all children are under the supervision of an adult a postal worker riding a bicycle in the course of their work duties a rider carrying a child under 10 as a passenger a rider with a medical condition who is carrying a medical certificate that states a medical practitioner believes the rider should be allowed to ride on the footpath a rider accompanying a rider with a medical condition. SBTF did not meet any of these conditions and therefore should not have been riding on the footpath.

    While we're on road rules, what are you meant to do with a T juntion where the straight ahead has been demarcated as the give way and the left turn continues like one road. So do you indicate right just to go ahead and don't do any indicating to continue left?
