@9:25 Here in Canada we drive on the wrong side of the road. Ignoring that fact, we are allowed to do a right turn on solid red lights. You come to a complete stop, look to the left and if no vehicle is coming, we can then turn right and continue. The advantages is it keeps traffic flowing. The problem we do have here though is roundabouts as no f'ing driver here as a f'ing clue how to use them unless you are from a developed country like the UK, Australia, New Zealand etc.

Yet here in backwater that is NSW, they have virtually wiped out the designated left turn in red permitted after stopping signs. It's like the government is determined to make us obey silly rules to humiliate us.

Some intersections in Australia allow left turns on a red light, but it's pretty rare. These can be identified by a sign saying "Left turn on red permitted after stopping". We do have quite a lot of slip lanes for left turns though, and these don't require you to stop, you just have to give way.

Hi Pete , To clarify this for you one we don’t have right-of-way in Australia that’s an American legal concept and it doesn’t apply in Australia. It has a different meaning to what you think it does. So in this clip yes there is a zip merge, however want many people to understand about the zip merge is as that you cannot come from behind And speed up to get your nose in at the last second to force the other car to give way to you. The design of the rule is that if a vehicle is ahead of you, as you’re approaching a zip merge that you must give way to the car ahead by coming from behind the vehicle and speeding down the ending Lane with the dash cam driver doing 50kmh in a 50 zone , in order for the van to come from behind moving front of them. teh van driver is speeding and seeing the distance from the dash cam driver to the vehicle in front of it along with the parked cars, the van driver was breaking the law by speeding, driving knowingly driving into a spot that is going to force another driver to off the road or into an accident that is negligent driving so if it crashed it occurred in this instance due to the dash cam, the van driver will be found at fault .happy Easter :-)

AT 6:31. I thought the camera car (turning right) had to go into the right most lane and the left turning car had to go into the left most lane. So there shoud have been no conflict. Am I wrong? Your thoughts please. I am from New Zealand.

HI fyi thats setup is Unquie to NZ in Aus in most places when turning from a single Turning lane into a muirple lane road you select what lane want , the traffic turning left must waiting and gvie way and turn lane when clear and can also select any lane , in the example here also the drvier turing left in a slip road with give way rules/sign so even in NZ they would need to give way and wait :)

SBTF. As much as I always want it to be the Bogandore, in this case it has to be Gary's ute.

A lot of cammers must have forgotten to disengage their cloaking devices. It's like the other drivers couldn't see them.

Hi, so to explain the driver of the other car was in the right lane, of the 2 turning lanes , turning right and changed lanes during the turn and yes with out indicating and infract indicating right , and then dead stopped to turn left into a driveway. Failing to give way to the dash cam driver and then impeding the travel instead of being in the left lane before the traffic lights so that they were in the correct position to make the left turn, they’ve used the right lane to jump some traffic and then cut over

That wouldn’t work in Australia, although we do have some intersections where we have a signs saying left her allowed After stopping the majority of intersections. We couldn’t do that at Australian struggle to even stop at a stop sign we like to roll through those and a giveaway sign basically means in Australia that don’t do anything just fly out into the intersection so if we were to allow Australians to make a left turn on red at any traffic light would only take a few weeks before they would simply be flying through red lights incoming traffic and causing major pile ups at every intersection. If you need proof of our Australian attitudes towards driving are just watch any video of mine involving a roundabout :-)

A lot of Aussies need to learn about Islands ye gads you do not OWN the freakin island just because you are approaching it there is plenty of room on most of them for 2 or 3 cars if you know how the use them

Wrong. In every Australian state, turns into any lane are completely legal, and also perfectly safe assuming everyone does the right thing. Also makes more sense to just turn into whatever lane you need, rather than turn, and then make multiple lane changes. This can be more dangerous, especially if you need to make another turn that's only 20m away. If they'd hit, the Commodore would be deemed at fault; as they're entering from a slip lane, they're legally required to give way to *ALL* traffic. If there's no slip lane, the car turning right gives way, same as entering a single lane road. In fact, I had someone do this to me once, and they got charged for it; not me. I was turning left (not from a slip lane) into the outside lane, as I needed to make a right turn ahead. The other car turned right into the same lane, failing to give way to me, then they had a go at me like I was in the wrong. A few months later, police saw the footage and charged that other driver with negligent driving.

Hi fyi no I assume you are not from , in Australia there is no such thing as maintain your lane when Turning , in that example the driver can turn into any lane they want , also the other driver is coming from a slip road with give lines / sign etc and the law is they must give way to all traffic that is coming or ie The DC driver and only go after it’s clear , if that was not the case the video would be shown :) make name now happy Easter 🐣

@@ScottsCarcameras If that is a rule, it's not a good one right. People then do the same thing when it's a dual turn and end up in your video after crashing into the car next to them. So maybe maintaining your lane in a turn would be a good rule to have so people get used to it.

Yes that is the rule and it’s a great one. Actually it’s just if you’re not used with it doesn’t seem to make sense but once you try and see the logic it is actually a much better way so by allowing drivers when turning to select what lane they go into then if they there’s not a need to change lanes shortly afterwards if they want to turn left or right ahead they’ve already selected the lane they need to be in which reduces lane changes around intersections which reduces crashes and increases traffic flow. They did many studies on this and that’s why they have the rule in regards to your questions about dual lanes that that is obviously different when you only have a single turning lane when you have dual Lanes you’ll have either a designated lane or you may have three or four lanes that you turn into, and they have road markings and signs to sure which lane or lanes you’ll have a choice of using kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXyius-PlqrLZLA.htmlsi=pqy1C40D5mTduEtV&t=89
