    At 8 min 25 sec with the caption of ’you can’t do that’ in regards to lane filtering: it’s actually legal in NSW as long as traffic is under 30km/h, the rider is fully licenced and it isn’t in a school zone

  • @ScottsCarcameras

    HI Ria NO its not legal in NSW , the lane filtering laws allow riders to filtering between lanes/lines of traffic but not down the kerbs or along side parked cars as they did at 8:25 , as there is the obvious danger of doors opening . cars pulling out ,or cars turning left etc so thats why they cant do it , see link to a video on the dos and don'ts of lane filtering :)kzread.info/dash/bejne/c2F_mKyNlaTbfMY.html

    @@ScottsCarcameras I just mean it seems to me to make more sense to use all the lanes to move more cars at once by designating that they turn into specific lanes rather than forcing single file by allowing them to turn into any lane they wish. I frequently find myself stuck behind people here that refuse to turn left into the left lane of a side road because there are people turning right into the right lane of the same side road and it really hinders your journey.

    at 4:39 you mention rule 62 and that would be all simple and correct if it was into a single lane road but as it is into a multi lane road it seems that rule 28 comes into effect and it states that you have to use the left lane through the intersection unless certain conditions exist. I read this as the cam car failed to maintain his lane and changed lane without due care and attention. Have I missed something?

  • @ScottsCarcameras

    @ScottsCarcameras

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Duncan , Yes you have , rule 28 was followed you’re just a little mixed up on things , Rule 28 covers what lane can turn from i.e. start not what lane you finish in ie end , so R28 ="A driver turning left at an intersection from a multi-lane road must approach and enter the intersection from within the left lane " which the cam car did , the rule doesn’t say you must stay in the left lane , when there is only one Turning lane eg single lane turning into a multiple lane the rule is you may turn into any lane you wish , so there is no such thing a maintain lane and they did not change lanes as that’s not lane changing under the law , they were still/compelling a turn and choosing a lane to go into. But traffic truing right re R62 must NOT turn until the cam car has complete turn and traffic now clear they CAN NOT turn at the same time see links on video I have made on the laws any more question let me know 😊kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yo54q6d9qqu3lKw.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/iXyius-PlqrLZLA.html

    yeah reg 148 says you can't move from one lane to the next if it is already occupied. as soon as the cam car had rounded the corner he was in a lane and he proceeded to cross to another lane (seemingly to make a point) With reference to reg 148 is that legal?

  • @ScottsCarcameras

    @ScottsCarcameras

    4 жыл бұрын

    Negative please re read rule 148 is has nothing to do with "turning" on when two or more cars are travelling in the same direction ! not to Truing into new road from to different directions ! you can turn into any lane and rules 62 defines you must give to cars Turning left , the red car did NOT give way should not have been there and the car cam had to strop and was impeded . so 148 is mute are the red car should not have been there it had to wait go behind the cam car , so only offence was by red car did you watch the links ?? :)

    Scotts Car Cameras nah, more just the fact sometimes the place you need to go is on the other side of the road, and if you wanna get there why force the driver to take a lap around a whole block, also some side streets may not have gave in centre medians to turn, so go turn at the next lights and then turn left into your destination street. Put bluntly, our driving is better than some think, but the gov and council people who planned out the road layout musta been on something when they did their work
