You are right,my JZX90 1JZ GTE non VVTI won't start. Crank sensor checking all dry but when the cam sensor checked .. got an oil and water contamination plus the socket bridle af. Clean it change the socket everything perfectly start like normal. Just reminds guys if the cam sensor broke or dirty,you might got the crank on stater and the injection sprayed gas on combustion but no spark,result the strong gasoline smelled.

I’ve got the code and will replace Camshaft position sensor The No1 reason for code is exactly what I have Valve gasket leak ( major leak ) This video says it isn’t the sensor that fails its oil contamination from valve gasket leak! So it’s the oil that’s gone bad through the valve leaking. Need to change the oil. And the sensor. Or just the oil. Many thanks.

Hello love your help and thank you. Question I got 2017 dodge grand caravan 3.6 with number 6 miss firing. Everything checks out. Intake, plugs, coil and injector also vacuum. Still has miss fire on idle. What I notice is that injector pulse is around 1400-1600 while all the others are around 1700+. Any tips. Currently leading toward pcm.

Have an 05 Lexus GX470. Had a TB service done 2000 miles ago. One day truck would not start. Recently jumped started it and pulled P0340 and P0345. Go back to the shop as they are accountable?

My honest mechanic said my timing chain is loose making a ticking sound. He recommended to have it replaced so wont damage cam position sensor, valves, piston. He said also it really time coz my truck has 280k odo n will last another 200k. Your validation is appreciated.

At 280k it's due for timing chain, tensioner, timing guide etc... replacement.

@@Top5AutoRepairs he quoted whole cloyes timing chain kit n while its open replace oil pump n water pump for $2400 about 15 hrs labor but reduce to 10 hrs. In return, i give fresh fruits avocados n oranges. Sweet deal !

how would it look using just a standard obd2 reader?

I have a 2006 Ford mustang GT with a 4.6 that will not start and on top of that my check engine light does not come on so I don’t know what the issue is but I’m starting to suspect the cam sensors may be bad I’ve already replaced the crank shaft position sensor. Right now I’m not getting a signal to the power packs for the spark plugs.

03 acura mdx ,After changing water pump and timing belt. I removed the spark plugs and coil just to make it easy on turning the crank to DTC once everything was complete. Check light came on and got p0344. Am on 3rd day trying to figure this out. Can low oil cause this code ?

My 2018 F150 5.0L throws a camshaft sensor code on bank 2 sensor 2 which is the exhaust sensor. What tool do I need to remove the connector? There is a white integrated clip in the connector that locks the connector in place but, once it is released it will not come off of the sensor and there isn't enough wiring to be able to get 2 hands on it. There must be a special tool to extract that connector.

What model car is it?

Please explain valve cover leak causing camshaft sensors to be faulty. Getting low and high input codes for both banks on bmw 745li 02 after having a major valve cover leak. The connectors from wire harness don’t seem to be contaminated by oil but they sensors were soaked in oil with some on connector prongs.

Valve cover was replaced n codes came back both low n high inputs. Didn’t seem like oil got all the way to the ECM.

I replaced my transmission and it says the cam ia out of sync. Had a shop mechanic come out with hos 10g snap on scanner and he said he dont know why that sensor says its out of sync.

04 Altima 2.5. My problem is someone or an animal cut/ chewed all three wires to the crank sensor. This is right againts the large wire loom down on the firewall. I can't splice wires there so can it be done elsewhere underhood ? Wires blk, wht, +red/ green stripe.

Can my Can shaft sensor gonna a bad but not shown on the computer? I have crank no start with fuel and spark

sensor is 10-40$. about 100-200 if a garage changes it. All depends on location. some older vehicles are a 10 minute job, and mine is closer to an hour to change.

Can a cam shaft position sensor on a two thous and nine audi q seven go out if it's been sitting for 7 months? Just purchased one and I got camshaft and crankshaft sensor codes.. vehicle will start acceleration then it will lie wanna die/stall/jerk... will these issues go away if I change these sensors?

I changed my camshaft sensors on my 2005 infinity now my ignition won’t turn could that be a problem why my ignition is locked?

Here's a tip for you, once you've established the subject is the "Camshaft Position Sensor" by saying it ONCE, just refer to it as the "Sensor" or " IT " every other time.

I bought a new sensor for the bmw thinking my sensor is out. But the new one is magnetic strong like the oem one.

I bought new sensors on my Mercedes Benz 2012 replace them as I was getting the code P0346 after replacing that and drove the car for a short time without a problem then again, the rough starting comes back with the same code reading. I’m not sure if there is anything else I should check for.

@Top5AutoRepairs I bought a 2004 chevy aveo has 40k mils on it , it has broken timing belt pully , I changed the the timing belt and water pump and timing pulley and tensioner , my timing marks are perfectly aligned. It would crank no start now . I can see I have spark from the coil pack and I have fuel also . I changed the crankshaft sensor and no luck . I think only 1 thing left the camshaft sensor.

@Top5AutoRepairs when I went to buy the car I asked the owner he said the car just didn't have power and stopped moving while he was driving. So I immediately checked the timming belt and sure enough it was lose and the timming pulley was broken .

Check compression. If no compression valves are bent.
