I absolutely had a blast with this movie. I liked it more than Bad Boys for Life. It might be my personal favorite of the franchise. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence killed it, but if they ever decide to retire, I feel like they set up Armand and Reggie as people who can continue the franchise if need be.

Yeah, I kind of wish that this movie focus more on those two more instead of Squad AMMO. Not that they characters were bad, but because Ride or Die focused much more on the family side of Mike and Marcus, AMMO's inclusion threw off the pacing a bit.

I don't go to theaters much anymore... but I will for this. Four for four; we're growing old together 😊

I just got out of the theatre for this. I enjoyed every second of it and that Reggie scene was absolutely top tier

Yes we paid to see this movie. It deserves to be seen on the big screen. Ride or die is worth it.

It was so good. The theater was almost full, which says a lot because that theater almost never is since the pandemic, and we had such a good time. It was a great film. Actually the BEST out of all four. See this one on the big screen, such a great ride and a perfect summer blockbuster!

It's funny how both Bad Boys and Transformers have better movies once the franchise got rid of Michael Bay in the directing chair 😂

Michael Bay made the best transformers film so far and best bad boys film so far. You guys will eat up anything just to shit on someone

Not gonna lie, I had a wicked time with this movie. While it's not as insane, action-wise, as "Bad Boys II" (due to a smaller budget), I think it's definitely up there with how inventive the action scenes are with drone shots, sequence transitions, first person, and gun-tossing. The story is hella stupid (as with the other movies), but for whatever reason, I actually found myself more engaged/invested in the Mike/Marcus dynamic this time around. I think this movie did a better job acknowledging the guys getting older and dealing with new issues that come with age and experience, than they did with the previous movie (which I liked, btw). At least there's more of a throughline here, whereas in the previous movie, it kinda just dovetails without any solid resolution other than the fact that they have to go fight the bad guy. At least by the time THIS movie's climax hits, both Mike & Marcus' internal arcs come to a head and are dealt with. Are they dealt with in a satisfying manner? That's up to personal preference lol, but I personally thought they came to a head just fine in terms of what these movies are. I do feel some of Martin's comedy didn't 100% land, but I actually appreciate that he was in on the action A LOT more with this entry, rather than just playing second fiddle and letting Will have all the fun. It felt like a true co-lead operation with Martin & Will sharing the load of carrying the movie, whereas with Part 1 it feels like it's Martin's movie with Will tagging along, and with Part 3 it's Will's movie with Martin tagging along. While I do wish the supporting cast got fleshed out more, I actually did appreciate that they all had a moment to shine. Maybe it's asking too much for people to remember the "lore" of "Bad Boys", but I did like the numerous callbacks to story and motif elements of the previous 3 movies. Is it a "good" movie? No. Fuck, if i'm being real, NONE of these movies are. But all of them are super fun and entertaining at the most basic level, and that's what I've always wanted out of these. Maybe I'm not demanding enough, but this was honestly a great time at the theatres for me. The chemistry between Martin & Will is as great and endearing as ever. Some people might complain that it's a bit too stylized, but honestly, that's another thing that made me like it so much. Shout out to the directors Adil & Billal. They really stepped up the action, and got real inventive with it. If they're in the running for the next Spidey movie in the MCU, I definitely would like to see how they handle action sequences with that character, because they really got to push some boundaries and have fun with "Bad Boys: Ride or Die." Oh yes, and Reggie is indeed the Real MVP. Amazing how far that character has come lol. If I were to rank the movies, favorite to "least favorite" (I love all these movies), I go: 1.) Bad Boys Ride or Die. 2.) Bad Boys II. 3.) Bad Boys For Life. 4.) Bad Boys.

You mentioning Reggie sums up my biggest issue with the movie. And that the movie should have kept him and Armando as the main focus a little more. But with the insertion of Team AMMO, the whole mayor election plotline, and Captain Howard's daughter Judy hunting the duo down, there's way too many plotlines for a movie that happens to be shorter than the last movie. I think better writing should have kept Mike and Marcus trying to be a part of Reggie and Armando's lives, while trying to help Judy solve the case to what happened to her dad, who was pretty much a father to the duo just as much, would have been a proper streamline for 3-act structure.

Can we at least give the antagonist credit for being such a evil villain

Just got home from watching this in the theater and had such a great time! Loved how it felt like it kept the spirit of the first movies while allowing people to change and grow, the action was interesting and dynamic, and i don't know if I went 5 minutes without busting out laughing

Dan focuses on non-profit theaters. Landmark Theatres is a for-profit chain. I used to be the assistant manager at Landmark's Mayan in Denver. I worked there when the Ogden closed down in 1990 and it saddens me to know that the Esquire may be shutting its doors, too.

I'm going back to watch all the movies now and the 1st still stands out as the best for me 😊

Just watched it last night and came out of it smiling/laughing. You sadly dont get movies like this anymore. I may just watch it twice. That scene with the son in law alone is worth the ticket both hilarious and action packed.

Hey Dan I got a question! I always see a movie on my birthday and it’s coming up next week so I need to make a choice and Ive landed between bad boys or furiosa.. I trust your opinion and I know I’ll like both so since you’ve seen both.. what would you do?

Bad Boys 4 is the equivalent of Toy Story 4, you don't feel confident it'll be as good as the last three and wonder why they're milking it, but after watching it you're glad how it turned out and glad it was made properly that progresses the story

So excited for this movie my grandma is making me wait until Saturday when we can go see it together!!!

I don’t know if I’ll have time for a full video but an important note - the closed theaters were all owned by a single franchisee and weren’t run by Alamo itself. So it’s not an indication of the health of the company, just a franchise owner that couldn’t continue in business.

I enjoyed the action in the third movie and the new squad with them but their bickering felt stale. It was what I liked the least. Sounds like they're just going to bicker throughout this 4th one too which is what I'm not looking forward to 😐

Love what you do. I don't love the snitching on "camera angles" it's one thing to say they had some unique ones but to ruined the surprise and say what type they have is a different story. Guardians 3 was a great surprise with the camera shots

If Adil & Billal get that rumored "SPIDERMAN 4" gig, it will be the BEST Revenge at WB/Zaslav shelving "BATGIRL". Their "BAD BOYS" films show that they are an Action force to be reckoned with. Saw it in IMAX. May see it again in Dolby Cinema.

Thanks for the review and i did see it and I thought it was OK, not a fast action movie like the past as they are older so lots of laughs and humor and payback and family closure.

Just got out of the theater and I loved every fucking second of it. I hope they make a dozen more.

I was joking and hoping we’d see Reggie go beast mode…they gave me what I wanted and it was such great chemistry still between smith and Lawrence.

Still don´t know if I´ll watch it on a theatre or at home.

Very enjoyable film had a decent sized crowd and it had laugh out loud and cheering moments. Not a sit down and ponder type film but definitely a fun summer flick that harkens back to the earlier films.

Hugely enjoyable. Swiftly paced, funky soundtrack, great editing and swooping camerawork. Will Smith still has it. If he gets his redemption can he carry on with these blockbusters.

Go right ahead. Some of the references will obviously fall flat and the big twist of 3 will be spoiled, but they fill in the backstory pretty well and the action stands on its own IMO

You can and it'll still be enjoyable. You'll miss some inside jokes but still a lot of fun.

Every big movie star has their character who defines them that they go back to for sequels… Arnold had terminator… sly had rocky and Rambo…. Cruise has Ethan hunt .. Bruce Willis has John MacLane… Will smith has Mike Lowry

I went into this blind. I havent seen the previous three. Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed it, didn't stop laughing and the action sequences had us on the edge of our seats. Definitely one of the most entertaining films of the year so far

Great movie, predictable bad guys, but great action and laughs

I saw the movie and is a ITS FINE, is missing a lot of great action set pieces from the other movies, the constant camera switching is annoying, bad boys as always used great camera work but here is like they're testing new types of shots but are annoying...it was lacking a car chase scene, the chemistry between Markus and Mike still there, a couple is very bad jokes but mostly are good fun jokes-moments, I think the problem still is the writing, the acting was ok by everyone but the writing is the most glaring problem.

He is right about predicting the plot but if you are a fan of the franchise you will love this. I expected it to be bad because I hated the 3rd movie but I really liked this and would see it again

Based on Bad Boys 3 it was better that the movie was canned. If the studio had thought the movie was going to be really good, I am pretty sure they would have released it.

Im just not that hyped to run out and see this. The last one was ok but definitely missing that Michael Bay added dimension Of craziness.

This one captures the heart and feel of the first film. And Micheal Bay is actually in the movie. Check it out. I think you will really enjoy this. Coming from an OG Bad Boys fan.

There's some foul language and references to sex but none seen on screen and violence but it's an action movie so to be expected

I love this movie: I seen it once Thursday, I seen the ones today on Friday and I'll see you twice tomorrow on Saturday !!!

I absolutely felt the same. The first ones are not masterpieces by any stretch of imagination but they had a great vibe, good chemistry between the characters and really well-executed action scenes (especially Bad Boys 2). Nearly everything of the aforementioned aspects was missing from the third installment.

I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. This was one if I wanted to, I could pick apart and blast. But I don't want to. The jokes didn't always land. But the two actors are having fun, and so I was having fun. It was just that definition of "forget what's going on for 2 hours and have a fun time"
