Really love the primula(sp?). I’ve never seen the variegated sedum. Beautiful.

Your backyard garden looks great Bill. I would prune the lower branches of your Japanese maple. It's a beautiful maple. My honeysuckle vine is also taking off given we are having above average rains in Kentucky. The main bonus I think of having the honeysuckle vine is all the hummingbirds they attract. Hope your Redbud recovers this year. Happy gardening, James

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the honeysuckle is such an amazing hummingbird magnet…. And is pretty too!!

Enjoyed your backyard tour! I would prune off the lower branches of your Japanese maple but not the top of the larch, or at least wait and see how it develops! I totally thought that cat mint was a Hydrangea! Love the double file viburnum! It's going to look quite full in your yard in a few years with all your interesting shrubs and trees! I hope, you'll keep showing it to us!🌳🌲🌿🏵

Thanks for the feedback 😃 I might have made some bad choices when planting such a monster viburnum.. lol. But time will tell.. that’s the fun of gardening.. if in time it gets too big I can trim it or remove it. However I don’t want to do either if I can help it.. I want to see that beautiful natural branching. My fully sun garden is turning into a shade garden faster than I anticipated..lol.

Great tours as usual Bill. Glad to see you back uploading 😊! I would prune off the bottom branches on the Japanese maple but I wouldn't remove the top of that larch. It's beautiful. Not sure why it would revert near the top of the tree, usually the reversion happens on the rootstock. From the snippet in the video, the top looks kinda wavy so it may just be doing it's normal thing. Not too sure.

I agree... i would hate to prune the Larch.. it could be like the curly willow where it's more dramatic on younger plants.

Bill everything is looking good. About your Japanese maple, I think there is a time you should not prune it but I don't remember when. About your rose, if you don't like it get rid of it. There are so many beautiful roses get one you like. Thanks for the video.

I think the best time to prune is late June through early August.. after the big flush of growth is finished in the spring.

I think I'm doing a tomato garden this year. I left some tomatoes on the plants because I was lazy and now I have thousands of seedlings coming up. 😂

lol…. Fun! And those volunteers will likely produce and perform better than anything you’d plant from the store.. lol.
