Fun to watch and welcome to Missouri. I'm heading to TRock in 2 days to fish a tourney, (only 4 hours away for me) and just as excited at you were.

Man you guys make me happy dragging the tiller Lund 1000 miles to make that trip. I remember being in college and taking spur of the moment road trips to fish and going to great lengths to rescue baits from trees, though I'm not sure I ever climbed as high as you did. I came across your video trying to see current stuff as we're leaving in the morning for TR, but it's only a 2 hour drive for us. Hope you guys enjoyed your trip. Next time you make it down this far you need to head just a little farther and give Bull Shoals a shot. My son is 6 but loves to fish above all else. Hopefully we can cobble together a video from this trip. I was packing the boat earlier today and goofing around and managed to break the bill on a lucky craft squarebill in that same color scheme. So much for that one. If you ever plan to head this way again to fish the big water or want to float some smaller streams, I'm happy to help however I can.

Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck on your trip! It was an eye opening trip to see a completely different type of fishery than the ones we’re used to back home. I bought a year license so I’ll hopefully be heading back down sometime again and I might just have to take you up on your offer. God bless!

I drive from the Ozarks to MN every year for the fishing. Yall definitely have the best largemouth fisheries in the country. Might not be giants but catching 50 15" keepers a morning is easy. We average 2.5 lbs. Throw in the random small jaw 3-4 pounder and you got a hell of a day.

You know, you make a mighty fine point, most guys up here are strictly focused on walleye so the bass in many lakes get very little attention. The biggest thing for me was being able to bang cranks off all rocks and stumps a guy can imagine and not run into any vegetation. So many lakes up here are choked out with hydrilla in summer which makes it hard to power fish with certain baits, so it was nice to change things up a bit and fish some different structure. I’m sure its a different story in summer but it was still great to fish a new area!

Those weren't spotted bass . For future reference Spotted bass will have a rough patch on their tongue. Largemouth don't.

I was a little hesitant to call them spots at first but when we pulled them up they all had red eyes (which is hard to pick up since the camera was shooting in a flat color profile). The other reasoning which led me to believe they were spots was the inconsistent lateral line near the tail and the jaw line ending parallel to the eye ( 7:41 ). Its very possible I'm wrong since this would be the first time I've seen them in person out of water and they do have minor differences compared to a largemouth. Good eye, thanks for the tip!
