Backpacking Near Gauteng | Overnight Adventure in the Magaliesberg Mountains, South Africa

We camped at the Waterfall Campsite at Maretlwane Wilderness School in the Magaliesberg mountains, and backpacked to Castle Gorge. The rock pools and swimming were fantastic, but it is the people that make a trip really magical. Thank you so much Grethe, Luke, Benjamin and Ralph for a wonderful adventure!

Did they have a privy and running water at the campground ⛺️? You all seemed to enjoy the swimming 🏊‍♀️ holes. You were brave in jumping in the water!!(with no glasses 🤓 😀😀😀)

Thanks Tom! There were 2 long-drop toilets at the campground (so just deep holes with outhouses built on top of them with a plinth containing a toilet seat) and you get water from the river 😊

Hahaha! Yeah, I am not a huge fan of jumping from high places anyway, and that gets compounded when I need to take off my glasses because I can't really see much without them 😅

@@RoughingItWithRuth I'm a independent researcher looking for the inhabitants of Cape Town before the bushman and khoisans and strandlopers. As I'm retired now from work and my interest started in 2020 looking at rocks, wood and bones differently. So I'm depending to photos which others post. If you live in Cape Town you welcome to come and view my collection. Let me know thanks.
