Weird coincidences. At the firm I worked for, for many years, we had two divisions which one made gearboxes, the other loose gears for pump and engine manufacturers to use on their product. The gears were fitted to Cummins, Perkins, GMC, Ford, Mercedes, Saab, Mack, Massey Ferguson and a couple more custom type engine manufacturers. Massey Ferguson had a large facility in the UK, midlands which I luckily visited several times. Their equipment for engineers to drool over was fantastic. It was such a shame when it closer down. Good post, glad you made a profit, of sorts.

Great idea figuring out your hourly profit. It’s an important figure I think people over look on passion projects.

Glad to hear it worked out in the end. parting out isn't an option for everyone (time, ability, etc) but for those that can it can really save your tail on a risky purchase. Hope you've been doing okay in the snow! November/December was crazy here in Spokane, not often we get so much so early.

It was a little crazy this winter. I was surprised how late winter came and how hard it hit when it did. I still have like 4' piled up on the side of my house

I made my money back on my durango debacle, and then "donated" parts to people who couldn't afford them. Still have 2 shells to haul off so I came out ok. Took a loss on labor, but it's cheaper than trade school...

I just got an ‘84 F250HD 4x4 460 with a plow! Manual transmission. Only has 70k miles and just about no rust. Runs great, just needs the things you’d expect a 40 year old truck needs.

My problem is I keep everything lol. Every time I get rid of something I find I need it or the prices just skyrocket on the items.

You keep saying "traction beam". AFAIK and can remember, they called them "Twin I-Beam suspension".

Twin I Beam is the term for the 2wd variant. When they are 4wd and have an axle running through them they are called Twin Traction Beams
