It is completely different than simply upscaling pixels because filmgrain is never the same size or standard. There is so much about this film that I missed growing up, like how it is basically a socioeconomic commentary on the 1980s. All the graffiti on the school (that isn’t there in ‘55), the decrepit downtown, etc. It’s a remarkably deep film and chooses to show many things rather than simply tell them - a sign of excellent filmmaking. And this 4K version really reveals all of those little details.

I actually met Christopher Lloyd at a convention in 2016. I actually hadn’t seen any of the films yet, though I had seen Angels in the Outfield as a kid, so I figured why not? It was near the end of the day, so he didn’t have much left. I got a Part III pic signed by him and later Drew Struzan, then got it custom framed and hung in my den.

This movie is one of my favorites of all time. The mixture of comedy and genuine heartfelt emotion never ceases to put a smile on my face. I’m 18 and I grew up watching these films on DVD and later Blu Ray after my dad showed me them and they really resonated with me. I showed my friends the movie who had never seen it before and now we quote it almost every day. The 3 parts will always be a joy to rewatch, and I never want them rebooted. I actually love the Back to the Future Game because it separated itself from being a Part IV and instead just told a great interactive story in the style of the original movies, and didn’t feel like it was trying to tread on the films or ruin them. This series will always be special to me.
