Early 2015 I developed near immobilizing back pain. Had useless insurance that still cost $$$. 2018 a young chiropractor informed me I was in desperate need of total hip replacement surgery. Told me he could not help me. Man turned away $$$ potential business. And so many bad mouth chiropractors. Hip replacement end July 2019 and every week thereafter both back, hip, and ankle pain went away. Back pain was the worst. Thanks for all u share. Well appreciated.

You reminded me of an incident while I was a resident. The unit secretary on the ICU asked me a "BTW" after calling me at 3 am for a patient issue. Within 15 minutes I had her in the ER for her ectopic pregnancy. She had been seen 2 or 3 times in the past few days. The docs did not ask the questions I did. The ectopic ruptured shortly after getting her setup in the ER. Ultrasound had confirmed the diagnosis. Since we were in a large teaching hospital there were surgeons on call. Since I had a reputation for "finding zebras", people always responded instead of equivocation. I never claimed to save lives. I did prolong many!

Hey y'all that's a lot of info. The worst back pain ever that I Had was a pulmonary embolism in both lungs brought on from chemo side effects. The pain went away after 45 min then came back about 12 hours . I was home by myself when my wife got home she called the rescue squad . The ER DOC said I was very lucky to still be around. Then three months later Thought I Was having another one but turned out to be kidney stones . I don't want no more of those issues. Wishing you all a great week thanks doc's!!!!!!

I have to get cortisol injection every 3 months. Sitting or lying down for more than 15 minutes I can't walk I need to bend for awhile. My back is so Sore it goes down all the way in my leg. My legs gets cold. Since I was in my 50s I wanted an operation which none of those doctors would listen to me an didn't not operate. Now they say I am too old for surgery. I am 74. I am very frustrated. I love your messages. I am getting a knee replacement in the fall

Great information! Amazing how many things no related to our backs cause back pain! It's a wonder our backs don't hurt all the time given anything can cause that kind of pain. Makes sense that older folks have back pain pretty much all the time. Between bad issues and it hurting from mechanical issues older folks (me included) feel it all the time. If I were to have back pain for a long time I would have just chalked it up to me tweaking my back---after these two videos I will not pay more attention to time frame and my activities to see if it makes sense it has been hurting for so long. Also really enjoy the way you present the information---it's done in a way laymen can understand it be but done so it feels like you are talking down to us. If I missed it, plese direct me to the right video(s), but could you do a video on the various tools you use in your surgeries. Having had both hips replaced as well as both shoulders, it is amazing what you use in the process. The hammers, drills, screwdrivers, and saws. It would be interesting to see them.

Love the information you two relay to us, helpful and thought provoking. My problem is a damaged disc at L1 and a 9mm kidney stone on one side and 12mm on the other. They say nothing they can do for the disc, and leave the stones alone unless they cause a major problem. So when it hurts across that area, it takes a while to figure out which it is.

Great video as always. Would you please consider doing a video on the sacrum? I have searched your channel and haven't been able to find anything regarding the sacrum. More specifically, SI joint dysfunction. I have been having problems with that for quite some time now, approximately 5 years. there seems to be very little information on the subject and my orthopedic surgeon does not want to do the surgery to fix it with me being 45 years old. she stated the success rate is approximately 50%. That about half of her patients come out of it feeling much better, but the other half come out feeling worse. I can't find any good information on exercises that work well or other homeopathic remedies. I have literally tried everything I know to do. I have been told that opiate pain medication at this point is my only option. I am loathed to go that route, but I am beginning to get desperate enough that I'm actually considering it. I have tried cortisone injections but after three of them each which took her over 45 minutes to get into the joint because of the severe overlap, and the fact that they only provide relief for approximately 2 weeks she does not want to do any more of those. I am beginning to feel helpless, frustrated and the pain is literally beginning to wear on my mind in a very negative way. Any information you have would be very helpful. Thank you for your time and consideration and I apologize for the extremely long comment.

Great video. Had no idea there were so many possible causes of back pain... Had a general question on X-Ray imaging. I had a right knee x-ray two years ago. And the report indicated "moderate" tri-compartmental joint space narrowing. I repeated the X-Ray recently at the same lab. Report now indicates "mild" joint space narrowing and only in just one of the three compartments (medial). How is this possible? It is the same xray lab with same standing position x-ray but report was written by two different radiologists... I am guessing that in general, joint space can never improve from moderate to mild , correct? So one report must be wrong. In general, are knee X-Ray images widely open to intrepretation in terms of assigning levels of joint space narrowing?

Any chance you could decrease the volume on the intro? It is significantly louder than your mics, which means I need to fiddle with the audio each video. Thanks!

OK you guys are scaring the crap out of me I liked you before this video lol This is so freaky just for two days now I have a sudden onset of a back pain in my lower right quadrant kind of near the hip bone about 1 inch down from the top of it. It only radiates around that area if you have no fever it’s Sunday and no doctors are available. It does not hurt when I urinate I do not feel it radiating from my spine purely a deep ache continual no shooting pain just ache. Any possibilities on this because now I’m thinking it’s something serious?❓❓❓❓❓ I do intermittent fasting I eat pretty healthy I’m a flexitarian but I did have a we bit of gin the other day well maybe just a little bit more.

Hi Jennifer. Hard to say what the cause is. Most commonly muscular. If it persists see your doctor! And the gin. Very interesting. Is your partners name Tom? Thanks for watching and subscribing

Lol alternating ice with cold putting on an anti-inflammatory cream seems to be getting better. Lol yes we bit too much Gin. OK you guys just totally redeemed yourself now thank you for your response. Guess I’m a bit of a worry wart. 😬💃🤗

What’s the difference between an aortic aneurysms and an aortic dissection? My daughter was born with Turner Syndrome and was born with structural heart issues (essentially partial veins if you want the simplified version) that were repaired at age 5. But she will always be at risk for aortic dissection. She’s 24 and does complain of back pain at times. Should I be concerned?

Hi Jennifer. Sorry to hear this. Short answer is back pain can be a symptom so an exam is reasonable and likely an ultrasound or CT to look at the aorta. So an aneurysm is a weak walled section of the artery that balloons out and depending on its size can rupture as it gets bigger. A dissection is when a small tear develops between the inner and middle layers of the artery wall and blood flows in there and can lead to a rupture. In either case if the aorta ruptures it is an emergency and is life threatening. Best of luck. Thanks for watching and subscribing

@@TalkingWithDocs thank you so much for your quick and helpful response. I will send this info to her. We’ve been told to look out for symptoms of a heart attack, but I was unaware that back pain could be a symptom. I deal with back pain a lot, both mechanically and due to going in and out of kidney failure, so I’ve experienced a lot of the different types of back pain you described. It’s good for all of us to know, but especially my daughter and I because dealing with back pain, we’re more likely to blow it off and just deal with it. Thanks again! Your videos are interesting and I shall continue watching! Y’all take care during these colder, sicker months!💗

Hah! y’all are the best :-) So, how does an angry, pain-suffering patient locate a specialist who will actually find root-cause before giving up or relentlessly beat the “malingering” dead horse diagnostic path all while time continues to tick, fueling a manic patient due to prescribing wrong medications…. Haha, for a friend
