Baby Koi progression! 5 to 8 days old | Breeding project part 8

A new update on the Koi breeding project. The baby Koi are now 5 days old and they become more active. Most of them are actively searching for food, especially in the outside pond. In between the algae they are searching for nice pieces of food they can eat. We continue to feed more and more egg yolk, some crushed floating koi food and pellets and we provide them with some artemia. Time for the update of Koi breeding project part 8!
During this breeding project I will share you with the experiences we have with breeding Koi and growing out the baby Koi. We have spawned with an Doitsu Aragoke Female together with two male Sanke of breeder Sakai. We will guide you through all the steps so you will ultimately also be able to do it yourself!
In the last video we already started to feed some floating Koi food, crushed to powder. It is now time to see how they are doing, as the fry became 5 days old and a little bit larger. In this video you will see the update from 5 days until 8 days old. Get ready for some baby Koi!

I understand that water changes are very important. Can you use a small carbon activated filter? Covering the intake with a fine mesh.
I liveing these videos alot of info all the way through showing alot more than others I'm going to be giveing my pond a go this way thanks for the info 🙏🙏👍

Perhaps a weird question. How can we make sure the pump doesnt suck the fry into the filter?

Just make sure it is not flowing very quickly. The water should remain as calm as possible

Boiled eggs, mix the egg yolk with water. That's all!

let me help the answer... wrap the end of the hose/pipe (as the water inlet) with net... I usually do this way when culturing daphnia
