My baby girl is being treated at the moment (she’s 4 days old), she currently just got off from under the light. Her levels decreased, but it’s recommended that your baby stays feed this way when they go potty all that can be flushed out. Everyone tell’s me not to worry, it’s hard but let’s keep praying for our little ones.

Great video and very informative.Babies should not be exposed to bright sun light directly, especially if you live in a very hot climate. Bright day light is adequate to break down certain levels of billirubin but babies should not be in direct sunlight as UV rays are unfiltered, even through glass and can be damaging to skin cells.

Doctors and nurses contradict each other , they push formula so much , Then they say colostrum is enough... my experience was that i was having only 6/7 drops of colostrum each feed & baby would cry & cry. I said Id would exclusively bf. So they did not gave him formula . Then baby ended up having jaundice, cause kidneys couldnt /did not flush out bilirubin as it was supposed to do. So sometimes its necessary to give both colostrum and formula for the 1st 2 days ..I regret not knowing so bc my babys jaundice was super high he ended up back in the hospital, Could have been very dangerous. Now my bby is one week old and im fulltime breastfeeding hoping jaundice will go away fast.

There’s a lot missing here. I have a very jaundice baby and she has to be triple fed because she’s so sluggish from jaundice she can’t breastfeed well enough to gain weight. Jaundice makes babies extremely tired and unable to gain weight. I’m surprised that’s not mentioned. Without my IBCLC I’d be lost. My baby lost way too much weight from no one mentioning this.
