I've come across videos of baby Gronk where he seems almost on the verge of tears as his father makes him do these silly commercials. It's evident that all the little boy wants to do is to play his sports, games, and hang out with his friends. It's highly likely that he'll develop a dislike for football in the future.

As a Physical Therapist, I have treated quite a few high school athletes who over time hated the sport resulting from their parents being pushy. I remember 2 in particular who were track and field athletes. They competed in most of the sprinting events and 1 of them also did high jump. They were both very good, and went onto full scholarships at D1 schools. Each of their moms were D1 athletes who had the dream of going to the Olympics but did not make it. There were 2 situations that happened. One of them, I was seeing her for a torn hamstring. Through the period of plan of care I began getting the feeling she just didn't want to be there, so I tried getting it out of her. She wasn't much of a talker but one day, I asked her what her fastest time is in the 100 m. I looked up the women's Olympic record and saw she was not far off. I told her that, and she didn't care. Then she began telling me, she doesn't like it. She does not want to run anymore. The only reason she is still doing it is so she can go to college for free via an athletic scholarship. The second girl was a lot more outspoken. I was seeing her for hamstring pain. During treatment, the girl began showing she didn't want to do what I was telling her for that session. As I was trying to get into a reasoning why, her mom interrupted, as she was sitting right next to her, and said, "____, don't you want to go to the Olympics?!" The girl said, "No mom!" Parents who live their dream through their kids ruins the child's desire to play the sport. Much of the time, the child's dream isn't even to participate in that sport. All these 2 girls did was track and field. I have a best friend who played baseball his whole life. He could throw 86 mph at age 15. By the time he reached 17, he hated baseball. He quit at that time and never returned to playing. I will be very surprised if this Baby Gronk kid continues football even beyond high school age; not because he is or isn't good enough, but because he just won't care. His desire will be directed to doing everything he missed as a kid.

Boobies uncle really wasn't all that bad he talked boobie up to the college recruiters, but boobie was already a 5 star and on all their radars, or they wouldn't have been at practice. He lied about the severity of the knee injury to the coach. That was the only time I felt his uncle did wrong. But when Boobie finally realized football was over, it was his uncle that consoled him and was there for him. When Boobie says, "I was going to buy you a house," in the middle of his crying, that part always kills me. Full of himself and cocky as Boobie was, he wanted to make it big to provide for his uncle, who looked like he had raised him himself.

*It’s also the fact his dad gets into spats with people over the internet, including social and political issues…on his “sons account”. This is more of a father living vicariously through his sons life than the kid actually creating their own success. This has a sad ending written all over it, the kids already WAYYY too full of himself based of the identity his father has created.*

There is one thing to have a kid who loves a sport, and you help them by driving them to practice and events, and helping them practice. Then there is this parent who is forcing a little child to do things, that the child clearly doesn't wanna do, because he's a child.

The Baby Gronk phenomenon is everything that is wrong with parenting today. Parents living vicariously through their kids because they were failures at what they did as a kid so now they have to force that on their kids and push them to their limit instead of letting them be kids. It reminds me of the Lavar Ball and Lonzo Ball situation Lavar was hyping him up as the next Jordan and constantly hogging the spotlight from his son and placing unreasonable expectations on his son now look at Lonzo he may never play basketball again and part of that is his daddy's fault.
