i thought of that,too. I think that's why they kept the session so short,to minimize the stress for him. I *think*we're the only members of the ape family that don't show our teeth to express fear or to threaten others. From what I've heard,however,that is exactly what we evolved the ability to smile for.

They're a lot like human babies -- they cry, they need their moms for milk, they need to be held and comforted by their moms. In the wild they stay with their mothers for 8+ years, which is how long it takes them to learn how to survive, how to find food, how to avoid dangers in the jungle, etc.

No, I don’t see his actual mama anywhere around there. Sadly they’re ripped Away from their real mamas and that thang sure hasn’t had a real life to get to live among its own kind in the wild , as intended ... sad if had to spend its existence in some zoo with a horribly small / lacking enclosure and can’t just be an orangutan in its own natural element , where it would’ve been clinging to its real mama for the first 8 years..,!thats what’s really sad ... that lady wasn’t in the slightest , a mama to that ape ... it’s had to survive and learn to trust whomever among humans , but ideally , it wouldn’t ever be in that warped environment and it clearly showed signs of being rather terrified and scared of all the loud noises and things going on ... but it should get to just live the life of a damn ape , without being leashed , forced to be confined in cages or some crappy enclosure In a zoo its entire life. I feel so sorry for any of those wild animals just thrown into captivity , where they have no choice but to have to adjust to whatever surroundings to cope and survive when they know that if they don’t accept it all, it will be having even more a miserable life , as they already suffer from deep psychological and emotional issues as a result of being forced into such an environment among humans .... the fact that those thangs are forced to wear stupid human baby clothes and diapers is just sick and how could they fully just be made to live in captivity , made to adapt to such a life away from their real families , when they’re crammed into enclosures with other random apes , even though orangutans live solitary lives once they’re sexually mature enough to mate, except duding mating time , although they won’t just pick any female to mate with,seeing as how they have preferences , too just like any other living being would and should get to ... but it saddens me seeing any animal thrown on some show just to give random people amusement , when all it does is contribute to the nasty pet trade in some regards or encourages people to think it’s ok to just throw some baby clothes and diapers on a damn ape baby... or damn monkeys too , bc we see that all the time when idiots run out and grab up freaking monkey babies and do that crap ... but all this content does is perpetuate the same irritating and sad behavior among people that only ever view those animals as objects to exploit or beat into submission to make them abide by whatever sad and unfair treatment they’re being made to endure , when folks aren’t looking and can’t see it on the camera. It’s pretty sad and sadistic of people to just exploit and use those animals just as some ploy for attention or something to use fir whatever entertainment purposes or to take advantage of in whatever other ways , while only ever having oblivious people out there see crap like that and actually just want to encourage other people to mimic , which takes further advantage of those Animals and all the rest that are forced into captivity for the same bs reasons ... but yeah go ahead and humanize every damn thing and assert as if that human is somehow that of the equivalent to an apes “ parent “, just bc she’s in control handling the thing on some tv show .. uhhhh. That’s just irritating.
