Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity. But we do much more than this. Through our Aerial, Anti-Poaching and Mobile Veterinary Units, we safeguard the natural environment and provide immediate assistance to wild animals in need. We also secure irreplaceable wilderness areas so that animals will always have space to roam and work with local partners and communities to ensure people and wildlife can live alongside one another.

That was ONE STRONG MAN to carry a whole giraffe so carefully. KIKO gave his keeper a much deserved kiss once settled in. Very sweet and life saving mission

Every video I've watched took my breath away, and my love for animals of the fur, feather and scale has become ten times greater than ever before. Such a happy-go-lucky little fella. The keepers will soon have to find a stool or something to stand on when giving him his bottle, lol!!
Thank god for DSWT and the work they do to save our animals.
This little giraffe is TOO CUTE. I keep wanting to see how he is. He's such a beautiful, gentle young animal:-)

I love everything about this place. The baby animuhls, the keepers, the people who run it. When they were carrying the little giraffe in that tarp/bag thing, like a duffel bag.... So precious! And the guys were giggling. Such a happy outcome!

Kiko grew up and was moved to SiroKoi area to meet another orphan giraffe so they could start to reintegrate as adults.
So trusting! So ready to be friends with people - I do hope he does not have people to thank for the loss of his mother - but it is a likely possibility. God bless the work you all do for these precious babies!
DWWT does such a wonderful job for all these babies they rescue, and then send them back to their natural habitat. Takes years with each one, such dedication! I really like how they hire locals and they become part of the solution! Such a worthy cause!!

I was thinking the same thing. What kind of scum would kill all of these beautiful creatures who do nothing to hurt no one and just being gorgeous and peaceful.
Kiko is now entering toward adult. All because of the brave men who helped save him, car😮ry him (wow that was something), & everyone who has helped get him to where he is today. Sheldrick & all the keepers do wonderful beautiful work to help these animals have a future

Seeing how bad the poaching and black market trade in wildlife "parts" has become how do you guys keep your elephants safe once they grow up? Have you had any poachers attempt to harm you elephants while they are under your care?
