After the first robbery i though "okay this movie can't be getting better" after this scene i thought "okay NOW it can't be getting better!". Outstanding work by Wright and the whole crew.

The only thing that felt like a letdown was the ending. Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim had better endings but Wright. Still a whole lot of fun with this one though.

It feels to me like he wanted to sell the other two, like he rammed their car intentionally to get polices notice. It probably was their second getaway car which is why they would be heading the same direction.

The music is brilliant. The way it slowly escalates with the wipers you feel the intensity with the tempo rising and slowly getting louder. Then the chaos kicks in the truck horn and alarm with gunshots. Then when Bats finally dies we get a piano piece like you failed a video game level. The audio sync from jumping /running to gunshots. Everything is just fantastic. I guess that's what Edgar Wright is for us.

You seem to believe that despite all its positive reviews it still isn't good by your comment, but the biggest things when watching a movie is the sound production and visual quality, which it did phenomenal on both parts, the music is on beat with every scene and every scene is packed full of interesting content that reminds me of a badass GTA sequence but with some interesting drama intermingled between. Books are gonna be very different with visualizations, if implemented right, it could be a great book.

Baby's cardio and parkour skills is next level.

Darling put too much faith in her plot armor. Like yeah she survived ridiculously lethal situations before, but even in a mindless action movie, you can't just shoot at a dozen cops out in the open with no cover and expect to live.

Yeah, buddy helped her in every other scene, and they were doing exactly that, shooting in the open. The one time he doesn't help her, she does her thing alone and gets gunned down, showing that yeah, a stripper doesn't really have that much tactical thinking

I like how Darling's hair flies back as if the bullets are going through her... The attention to detail is just chef's kiss

(Spoiler warning) At the end of the film I’m glad they had all the witnesses’ testimonies, especially the lady who owned the Chevy Caprice. I’m just surprised they never showed the mother who got her child back thanks to Baby.

I love how baby's finger isn't actually on the trigger when he pulls the gun on that lady.

The fact that Buddy and Darling are keeping up with a teenager running at full sprint (before he starts parkouring at least) while carrying bags of money and full sized weaponry is the real question here.

The use of music in this scene is so good, like how they match the beats to bullet shots and especially at 3:27 when the store music matches this song so well.

This felt as intense as the chase scenes in my dreams (if you've had them you'll understand how intense they can feel... The continuous ducking and hiding and being caught and stunting all over the place again)

Moral of the story: don’t be a pain in the A to your getaway driver or he will make you feel pain, literally

Baby, through all this chaos, is stilla good kid at heart, throwing the old lady her purse and even apologising, even if he did take her car.

Baby hated Bats, he doesn’t like murder. And yet Bats’ kill count was enough to set Baby off.

Man I will never forget my first time watching this scene it was soo imersive it blew me away it felt like there was real stakes

I love the music direction in this - the gunshots syncing with the guitar beats, just excellent

You can tell who has the most experience and common sense with firearms between Buddy and Darling.

Anyone else notice at 6:10 Baby is checking hispulse. I'd never noticed that before but thought it was interesting, like bro the cops are after you, who cares what your heartbeat is. Then I realized it's likely Baby, without his music, is searching for any kind of beat to help 'bring balance' to his life. Something he's always tried to do through listening to music (also to tune out his tinnitus).

No lie. Although, I took one over Vail Colorado during a winter storm, past all the 'snow chains' signs and the cops just waved me past because apparently a Utah license plates means you can ignore snow and ice. It was like using an aircraft carrier for a toboggan, but we lived.

I feel like this scene is a giveaway that Darling isn't actually as good as a shooter as she seems. Not only does she not take cover during her shootout, but she's also shooting each of her guns with one hand even through they're heavy and the effort is throwing off her aim. She's also aiming them way higher than where the cops are. Buddy only has one gun, but he holds it the way you're supposed to hold a gun and he takes out pretty much every cop. Granted, I don't know much about guns, but I can't imagine those ones are easy to use one-handed.

5:14 Its always nice to see stuffs like this, i mean what did you expect? you wield 2 Rifles going akimbo and shit expecting you’d hit anything at all and look bad ass.

Those earbuds must be super-glued to his ears to stay on as long as they did.

Bro most of the shots from buddy and darling are synchronized with the music just like 1:52, 2:16 and the best out of all of them 5:45

It's for dramatic effect. Realistically, baby would've been flanked so fucking hard. They had a bird in the air

Edgar Wright is the next step in the Cameron Crowe evolutionary tree...

He is a jinx, that's the point of the film. The team thought they had an ace up their sleeve, but slowly you saw after the first robbery the whole organization falling apart. Add his new girlfriend since he is a jinx to himself as well. He would be out of the corruption and issues if he kept emotions in check, instead he is doing life imprisonment dreaming of what could be his life with Deborah.

Most iconic villain couple ever. Periodttt 💅🏼

I was pleasantly surprised to hear the song 'Hocus Pocus' in the back by the Dutch band Focus (1970's) of whom I still am a big fan.

That’s the point of her character, she only reacts in the moment a total hothead. During the dirty cops/gun trade scene it’s Buddy who saves her from getting badly wounded.

Why has no one mentioned how stupid Darling was at the end? She decided, not to take cover like Buddy, but rather walk *closer* to the cops as she unloaded on them. No wonder she got Swiss-cheesed

Any of those three could have ended up as the final “boss” of this movie. Could have been interesting to have seen those other two alternate endings.

the whole movie, during heists and chases there was always cool music. once i heard the goofy semi-nightmarish music, i knew it was a metaphor that the job was gonna be a shitshow

The music is of the 70th or early 80th. Don't know the band anymore, it's history.

This is one of those movies you really need to watch more than once or hell just watch it a few times. Every time you will notice something new and different. There are a lot of scenes like this in the movie. Little thing you might of missed the first time.

Atlanta PD was like: "Hey, LAPD dropped the ball in HEAT! Let's do it better!!"

Buddy shoots his iPod so Baby loses his music, thus we hear what Baby hears in the constant ring of his tinnitus. Edgar Wright was a fucking genius with little touches to the movie, like that.

They cover all the incredible parts from this movie, that were all from the mind of Wright. If you still fail to see him as a genius, then you must think all of Hollywood's directors are terrible.

5:20 when you lose plot armor

This is a really really awesome movie. Just want to ask people from US, do these kind of crimes - heists and car chases - really happen in your country? Not trying to aggrandise criminals anywhere but in our country these guys are not so sharp and stylish, with such intelligent strategies to rob and escape. Really loved the movie , came here after seeing the synthwave track “Signs” by Kalax.
