ABOUT US:
Welcome to our crazy life. We took a leap of faith in 2020, and uprooted our two horse-crazy girls from their life in the city and traded it in for life on a farm. We now live on a hobby farm in Ontario (Canada) with our horses, goats, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, ducks, bunnies, a livestock guardian dog and house dogs. Follow our horse journey and life on the farm as we vlog our daily lives with our animals.

Like the way you used the bales of hay to keep the babies with mom.

I so appreciate the trigger warning! I came to read comments bc I don't have the stomach for this. It's so thoughtful for you to put a trigger warning! Thank you. Some things you just can't unsee! 😊 sounds like everything went well.

Yes, we’ve been watching them for years. I think the sheets I have in my kidding binder might be from them actually. I can’t remember because I made it a couple of years ago when our first babies were being born. I have definitely learned a lot from them and some of the other channels we follow.

He totally is…. well, they are all so soft. He was our biggest boy and Kate loved that he had long ears like Gideon did when he was born. Leo is likely staying with us I think. He reminds Kate of Gideon and he was her boy.

Out of curiosity what color was the buck? Black is recessive, and they have to get two copies to be born black.. I’m assuming (lol and shouldn’t) that one buck sired all four kids.. but interesting you got two solid black and two Chamois

Grace isn’t a first time mom, so I’m not sure why she didn’t start cleaning the baby right away. We were lucky she had the baby while we were watching and could get to her right away. She is such a sweetheart. 🥰 Yes, I follow Blue Cactus Dairy, too 😊.

Better to stay nearby when they are having babies just in case.

Yes, absolutely. The plan was to go into the house and go out when she looked like she was going to start pushing so we were at the barn doors ready to go in when she was delivering, but Grace was cleaning the first baby and the other baby just shot out. So we threw our stuff back on and headed out… but all of a sudden that short distance to the barn felt way too long. Definitely won’t do that again.
