I worked at the model village one summer a few years ago and it was brilliant. Everyone behind the scenes and front of house work so hard to make visitors welcome and have a great visit. And omg they had literally just started the work for the Paignton zoo part when I was there but I never got to see it. Think it’s time for another visit.

Hi shawn Wow I love this amazing. We went to Torquay for our holiday back in July unfortunately we didn't visit here. I just love Model villages i don't live to far from Beckonscot model village in Beaconsfield Buckinghamshire. I'm definitely going to visit this place next time we are down that way . Hi Ryan, (I thought I posted this reply earlier but it's not showing, maybe I did something wrong). I think it is often the case when you live near somewhere, you think you will go 'one day' but never quite make it lol. If you are over this way vlogging any time, drop us an email. I worked in the Twinings Tea Caddy shop in the UK pavilion in EPCOT (center back then) back in 1993-94. What an amazing year!

It’s such a great attraction!

Every night when everybody has gone home all the figures come to life and it becomes a real living village. The figures walk or drive around in their cars and get on with their day to day life. When the sun rises and the first member of staff arrives on site all the figures go back to being static. At least that's what I like to think 🤣

It looks still as amazing as when I visited it as a kid in the late 70s early 80s..A World champion of model villages in my opinion ..hope it, Wimborne and Godshill isle of wight continues long into the future😀

Such a beautiful place

I went there for the third time this summer. Fabulous place. Lots of new scenes to see. Enjoy & admire the buildings. Love the way they make the scenes especially the lake & harbour which are favourites of mine. But I think the planting is amazing. I think that is what I enjoy most all those little plants with so many different colours & habits & flowers. It is the plants that bring it to life for me. My only criticisms are:- the cafe could do with a couple more choices including a vegan one (falafel & hummus salad, very easy to do, possibly in a wrap,) & it would be really helpful for older people to have a few more benches. There are places where they could be built into the banks, so they do not stick out into the paths. A long, simple, plank bench at the front so people who have difficulty standing can sit & queue would be a help.

I remember visiting this place as a kid. Memories.

Reminds me Great Yarmouth Model Village. Looks so much the part at night all lit up. The fire breathing dragon was superb. Love the train going round the circuit. So realistic. Nice vlog Shawn 👌😉

Glad this place is still going strong. Visited as a kid and loved it! I remember part of the light show was a UFO/War Of The Worlds section 🛸

Remember going there when I was a child - fascinating place.

Went once with my parents back In early 80s, fond memories.

What a beautiful attraction, this is right up my street. The illuminations take it to another level. Amazing detail on some of those builds and the setting is just as impressive. If I'm ever in Devon I'd definitely stop by.

Last went to the model village and the nearby Bygone’s museum in 2002 when I was in primary school, had a great time then, nice to see not amazingly much has changed, I do clearly remember that they used to have a lot themed around the old LetterLand book series

Very much enjoyed this video of the model village. We have just been back after several years, to see the model at Bourton-on-the-Water a few weeks ago and would have very much liked to have seen this one....the humor is brilliant as well. We will be sure to visit this one on our next trip!

So good to see again, I loved the model village when I was child staying until night time and lit up, there was a music and laser show on the hour complete with UFOs appearing above the trees. Had great fun running around it again and again!

I'm 61 now and i still remember the model village when i was young my parents loved torquay and the surrounding areas . Thanks for bringing back some Great Memories 👍

If you love your model railways, then you will love the Great Yarmouth model village. It's a shame Goonhilly is no longer open to the public, was a fascinating attraction in the south west

Been this August, we go every year on our Holiday. We usually park on the Road. Best to go in the evening when it's going dark. Nice video. 👍

As we visit paington every year

I went to the babbacombe model village way back in 2012 I remember staying at caravan park located in Totnes near Paignton Devon and I review it as the best tourist attraction for family, friends, kids, adults and teenagers who are living in Torquay and Paignton.

I went to Torquay last year but never went here has I didn’t have time but looks amazing I went to the water park in Paignton and the zoo they are so good also

The babbacambe model village remains a of the miniland in legoland near Windsor.

End of summer......thats a depressing thought 😕

I have a challenge for you and Charlotte to try and tackle wether it's a adventure shawn/ sanbrook adventures challenge or over on tpw. The challenge is to build a lego theme park at home 1. Can't use any logo kits 2. No computer aided design like u get with planet coaster. 3 logo piece can be either proper lego or the cheaper alternative that u can get from wilko b and m home bargains even can go to the local market and see a guy who does old toys etcv

Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal in Ohio has an indoor model like this, showing what Cincinnati used to look like in 1940. Fun museum to visit if you get to go back to Kings Island Although it is indoors, they have daytime, nighttime effects.

Be cool if they could add some more parts of each scene that animate or move somehow. I’m sure they could think of something for each segment that can animate. Apart from just a train/windmill.

Hey Shawn, could you do a tour of the Western Railway Museum in Swindon?

Just watching this and thinking it is very like merrivale in great yarmouth. Think it has new owners but don't know if the two are still linked. When you are next in norfolk I recommend bressingham steam museum too. I know you said you like trains and the have between 2 and 5 different railways running most days. They also have model railway, gallapers and gardens. Would love to see more videos from norfolk some time. I'm going to joyland and pleasure beach tomorrow. X

Babbacombe Model Village and Great Yarmouth Model Village were originally owned and run by two Dobbins Brothers. Babbacombe is still owned by the Dobbins family but Great Yarmouth Model Village has since had a few different owners.

Just wish all those little people would come to life haha
