Recently heard about the praise Christopher Tin gave for this performance - definitely one of the best renditions I've heard, having been in love with this song since 2005. And really nice touch holding up the Civ4 intro video, was not expecting that! Great to experience it the same way as when I was first floored by it all those years ago - I remember re-booting the game over and over just to hear it again.

Proud to be Kenyan. It's amazing that other countries especially you guys have done the cover. God bless you!

17 years ago I was a freshman in High School with a growing passion for music and composition. This song moved and inspired me so much when I first heard it in the Civ IV trailer. This was probably the first ever orchestral piece I ever transcribed, and I appreciate each of the voices, ornaments, and instruments in every facet of the orchestration. Hearing this brought me back to those times, and I can notice all of the little instrumentation details that I first discovered and loved all those years ago, and you all brought each of them to life in such a beautiful way. Truly an experience to hear this again, thank you very much :)

Being from Kenya I feel so nice how good you guys sing that song. The wordings are so clear. As always good work.

I remember my high school choir singing a version of this - it was one of the hardest songs we ever tried. This gave me goosebumps; so amazing! ♥

Bass part might not be fun to sing, but it's a very essential part of the choir to make the sound more substantial.

This is magnificent. I keep replaying it because of the richness of the rendition. As far I can see not one of them pause. All the five voices are used all the time. Impressive.

You guys just warmed my heart and blow my mind as I head home from church. ❤️❤️❤️ Your tone, individually and together. The crisp harmonies and part switching. The articulation. Everything was spot on! I would say Maytree has a gift for singing “world music”, or music from other cultures, with the way they performed this.

This was one of my favourite pieces in my very first concert with my university choir back in 2011. Brings back memories 🥰 Thank you may tree!

Struggling to find the words to describe this... Brought tears to my eyes.

Been following MayTree for a while now and man this is really really good.
