Our ancestors were engineers, astronomers, architects, biologists, educators and warriors. They founded Mexico City-Tenochtitlan, one of the largest of its time, more than the European capitals, and the largest in America. In the Year of the Lord 1325, in the middle of a lake, where an eagle devoured a snake, our ancestors founded the Greater City of Mexico, which astonished the Europeans upon their arrival in central Mexico. The Mexica-Aztecs are our ancestors, and we, the Mexicans, are a people proud of our history, our traditions, our food, our arts. Mexico, by the Grace of God, gateway to the World to Latin America.

@@rockygonzalez7635 You're so wrong and ignorant of your own history. Do they still sacrifice children, practice cannibalism? They murdered hundred of thousands of their own and prisoners who they would torture and sacrifice to their gods. Nothing to be proud of.

@@danielbond3298yeah we may of done cannibalism and sacrifice children but that’s not as worse than European history which consists of cannibalism ironically and child molestation, torture, rape, going to war for the stupidest reasons, forcing religion on others and killing those who refuse, and more. Everyone’s history is fucking messed up but we don’t fucking shame others for being proud of their heritage, that’s some bitchy behavior.

To think maybe a thousand years ago if their tribes met it would either be war or they would establish peace. Maybe this will be a new chance for the native Americans to unite under one banner representing all the tribes and nations of the first Americans. Even if I'm not native American seeing this gathering of the different tribes peacefully brings tears to my eyes.

What a cool question. In thousands of years, most cultures didn't change much without being touched or occupied by Western (Roman-style) cultures. For better or worse. Or both. Lots of small wars. Lots of living off the land, and not having much surplus in most cases. I imagine I'm not alone in thinking that sounds pretty wonderful.

Im 25, saw a picture of my great grandpa from the Wixáaritari nation out of Nayarit, wearing his Mara'kame/shaman regalia, never knew of my indigenous roots prior to that. One thing i dont understand is that the dance they're doing come from the Chichimecas. I understand the representation but the Mexicas migrated to various parts of Mexico after the fall of Tenochtitlan & many villages dont claim Mexica, only lineage that exist are the supposedly descendents of Moctezuma, but im all for being educated as im doing the same with the Wixáaritari Nation, ke'aku cousins!🦌
