If you want to see Anneke van Giersbergen at her best, you should check her older band The Gathering, performing the song 'Travel' live (at Doornroosje in the Netherlands). She will absolutely blow your socks off! Or her project with Arjen: 'Tje Gentle Storm' live.

My personal fave with the Gathering would be "Waking hour" but "Travel" very very close second
The Gentleman singing with Anneke is Tom Englund from the Swedish Band Evergrey.

I should have known that, I've been watching his stuff on my channel. I knew he was familiar, just couldn't place him
I absolutely share your enthousiasm!! Don't forget to watch "the sixth extinction " from this same show. The live beneath the waves concert 01011001. Be sure to choose the official video from Arjen. This " the day that" is a song that you can hear a thousand times and still enjoy. Arjen indeed is the insanely gifted master composer of prog. And next to that he is a very nice guy. The amazing thing is, all of them that I know of are really nice people. You could invite them to your birthday party and the atmosphere would be great and heartwarming. No "derailed" characters caused by fame. And I guess that is one of the reasons they enjoy combining their forces like this. Everyone is having a blast him- and herself. And that radiates from the podium. You can see what that does to the public. I speak of experience because I was in that audience. I divide my life now in pre-concert and post-concert. Can you imagine? I am so grateful to live in the Netherlands where this stuff is being conceived. To call a few names: Floor Jansen, Simone Simons, Marcela Bovio, Anneke van Giersbergen, Sharon den Adel, Irene Jansen, Epica, Arjen with Ayreon, the Gentle Storm, Within Temptation, Epica, etc, etc. And this list is far from complete, so I apologize beforehand when I did not put your name in this list yet. It is my lack of knowledge, not your lack of talent. You want something from Anneke? Try "the gathering" or "The gentle storm" . A project from her with Arjen. For instance the song called "the storm". Or her cooperation with Devin Townsend: watch "Grace". And her own stuff like "take me home" or "Hurricane". It is another style of music, I warn you, but in it's own right perfect. A joy to listen to and watch. The Dutch metal female Goddesses. That Rabbit Hole could fill your life
on stage this song: Damian Wilson (Arena, Headspace, ex-Threshold) Daniel Gildenlow (pain of salvation) Simone Simons (Epica) Jan Willem Ketelaers (Magoria, ex -Knight Area) Maggy Luyten (Beautiful Sin, Frameshift) John Jaycee Cuijpers (Star One, Supersonic Revolution, Praying Mantis) Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian, ex-Demons and Wizards) Micheal Mills (Toehider) Tom Englund (Evergrey) Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gentle Storm, VUUR, ex-The Gathering) Marcela Bovio (Star One, MaYaN, VUUR, Stream of Passion) Irene Jansen (Plan Nine, Star One) Band: Marcel Coenen (Lemur Voice, Sun Caged) - guitar Timo Somers (Supersonic Revolution, Delain, Vengeance) - guitar Johan van Stratum (Blind Guardian, VUUR, ex-Stream of Passion) - bass Sir-Joost van den Broek (Plan Nine, Star One, Supersonic Revolution)- keys Ed Warby (Star One)- drums Ensemble: Ben Mathot - violin Jurriaan Westerveld - cello Jeroen Goossens - woodwinds #themeaningoflifeistogivelifemeaning 🤘 Arjen = his name is pronounced Ar-Yun.

It breaks my heart seeing ex Demons & Wizards for Hansi’s name
Like before even watching :) And Anneke? ... The Gathering , Stange Machines live at Pinkpop.... You wil love it!!
Floor was pregnant and the concerts were held right around the due date, so there was no way she could be there. (Otherwise she would have)
This is pretty awesome, isn’t it? If you’re looking for an Anneke fronted song you could try The Gentle Storm performing The Storm, from The Masters of Rock in 2015, I think you’ll recognize a few of the people in the band. I’ll put the link in the reply.

The guitar players are Marcel Coenen and Timo Somers and on bass guitar Johan van Stratum. The blonde singer is Jaycee Cuijpers, also lead vocalist in Arjen Anthony Lucassen's project Supersonic Revolution (worth to check that out).

John Jaycee Cuijpers also plays the Barbarian in the Electric Castle live show. His entry there is in the song Amazing Flight where he plays next to Arjen himself
Floor unfortunately could not participate. Her part on the 01011001 was performed by Brittney Slayes.
For Anneke you could react to Within Temptation with Somewhere live
I liked your excitement expecting Floor, but Irene had to stand in for her sister Floor (who was about to give birth to her 2nd daughter), and did a great job with her co-Ayreon-Angel Marcela

They were Amazing.
Yeah Floor was 9 months pregnant when this show was filmed back in late Sept 2023.
I have now seen this clip 25 times, but what struck me is that during the part that TH-1 (Mike M) the lamps at the top of the room are also 1s and 0s the same as the text... just pay attention.
✌️💚
🤘
If you like Anneke try (pe.) this solo interpretation of Chris Cornell's (during his Audioslave era) Like a Stone: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g4J5u6mNfsKTY5M.html
A fun Anneke vid to watch would be Hyperdrive, a collab (one of many) with Devin Townsend : kzread.info/dash/bejne/iaCXuMqDfsusj84.html
The names of the singer are in the text under that video. They are in the order of performing!!! Btw. You pronounce the name Joost completely wrong, the double 'o' (oo) is pronounced as a long 'o' like in the word 'so'. A single 'o' is short like in 'short' and 'coffin'. The dubble vowels usualy are just a single sound here. For example 'ie' is not pronounced like an 'i' and an 'e' but like youre english 'i'. The single 'i' in dutch sounds the same as again in the word 'coffin'. Just a little reminder to be bit more cautious in the pronounciation of dutch names, they usualy hardly resemble the way you think they do. I just say this because I hear so much english speaking people make the same mistakes and those same people expect us Dutchies to speak almost perfect english . . . . ;)

I'm sorry about that. Believe me, I don't expect perfect pronunciation, I can barely get English correct, much less other languages.
Daniel Gildenlow aint no Tommy.
Nice honest reaction.Thank you. I think you should take a look at " The gentle storm " another Arjen project with Anneke on vocals. I also think you will appreciate the 2 meter session of her acoustic solo on KZread.
