I am glad that I saw your review before I bought them. I am in Canada, so $299 US dollars is like $380 up here.

On sale for $150USD for Memorial day weekend 2024, I bought mine last summer and love them. I also have the GS 2.0 but the Xcor are more convenient to use.

Thanks so much was thinking of buying these but other reviews all seemed to get the product for free or had so affiliations with axil which worries me I think the search for new ear protection for me continues

Yea I really wanted them to work out. The first problem I had is that my ear canal is just too small, but the other problems with the battery, and audio dropping out when it slightly touched my hood, etc.. just pretty much killed it for me. I ended up ordering another set of the Howard Leight ear muffs with hearing enhancement. They work great but my last pair was 20 years old and worn out. I was really looking for something small like an ear pod type thing, but I will stick with the Howard Leights from now on.

I had some issues with mine making a very loud, repetitive ringing sound when sound adaptive sound was turned to the 3rd (max) level after about 30 seconds. I exchanged them and the new ones work very well. I also noticed the new ones came wrapped in a black, rubbery, sealed little bag inside the cardboard case, and the old ones didn’t, indicating that they were previously used!

Glad you got it fixed. Yea sounds like it was a return that was put back on the shelf for sure.

I love mine. They are awesome. I am not sure why others don’t but I guess different strokes for different folks

From what I am gathering is that folks seem to get a pair that work, or they get a pair that just doesn't work very well. I'm glad yours is working for you.

How unfortunate, I LOVE mine. I've never had any of the issues you speak of. Try returning them for another pair?? I wonder if you contacted Axil, If they have smaller cups available? These are amazing for outdoor use, But Indoor ranges you have to wear ear muffs with them, But the nice thing is with them you can hear what's going on with no problem. Thanks for the review.

That is great that they work good for you. I really wanted to like them for sure. My first problem is that they just don't fit my ear. That caused them to not stay in and it also affecting the hearing enhancement in my case, I think because it was so jammed in there it just muffled that right down. The fact that it is just too big for me ear canal is not their fault, but I had too many other problems with them, like powering off with low battery after being fully charged and turned on for only 10 minutes. I heard of this happening to others before I purchased but I figured that was just a fluke. And then the slightest bump into my hood and it would turn the audio off. I ended buying a new pair of Howard Leight earmuffs. I mostly crossbow hunt and only need the ear protection every now and then when I actually do go on a rifle hunt.

On sale for Memorial Day week for $150usd, i love mine. I also have the GS 2.0 but the Xcor are more convenient to use.

At that price point I found them underwhelming and too unreliable. The biggest problem was that they require individual adjustments and not universal control. The case is magnetized inside so they're hard to scoop out and they need to be recharged in the case after about 2 sessions. The hearing enhancement mode doesn't provide enough hearing protection so I run them in the protection mode only. Be sure to use the smallest foam tip because they ship with the medium tip on. After insertion rotate them backwards so the body rests in the hollow in the bottom part of the ear. I'm sure that the Xcor 2.0 version won't be so problematic and insufficient? I'd been using the GS extreme 2.0 for about 8 months so l'm not too disappointed that the Xcor is far from ideal and I didn't buy the Bluetooth making them much more affordable.

Just received these today. They are horrible. Can barely hear incoming call notifications including ringtone. Hearing enhancement only enhances static noise. Very uncomfortable. Didn’t take to the range because I sent a refund email to Axil 4 hours after receiving them. $40 value at best. I appreciate the concept, but the quality isn’t there. Way too much money for what you actually get. I never give reviews good or bad, but this was warranted. Don’t waste your time or money.

They were $299 but it looks like AXIL has them on sale for $229 now.

I tried them also about 2 years ago and I have to agree with everything , word for word, that you said. I am 71, no shit, and it's hasn't been fun (for the last 50 years) watching that filthy crooked 1% continue to fuck us with sub par products, bad customer service, screwing the shorts off of us, all, because they can. I just don't give two shits anymore whether I wake up in the morning or not. But I would like to get a chance to pay these assholes back. I am sorry to my kids, my grandkids, and my great-grandchildren that this is the way of the world nowadays for the majority of people, unless of course, you have money. Sorry for the rant, but I've paid my dues. Oh, and fuck the influencers for the fine job they do in helping this all along.

I appreciate you taking the time to create this post. However, I do not understand why your opening is comparing apples and turnips. There are some companies out there that will create an actual mold of your ear and make personal ear protection for you. You are REALLY asking this AXIL product to do way more than it is designed to do. Good Luck in your continued search for adequate ear protection/inhancement/all of the above and more.

Charles I never intended to ask this AXIL product to do more than it was advertised to do. My expectations were that it would do what it was advertised to do, nothing more. - Provide adequate hearing protection - which is does do. - Provide hearing enhancement - it did OK but not nearly as good as a set of Howard Leights. - Have a comfortable fit - for me it was not comfortable at all - Would stay in my ears - which it did not due to poor fit. - Would actually work - fully charged, yet battery dies in 10 mins - doesn't work - Slightest bump turns it off - not supposed to be that way - again doesn't work As a side note, I thought the fit issue was perhaps due to my ears being smaller than average. On my next visit to my audiologist, she told me my ear size was average. I was using the smallest tip that came with the AXIL. As far as the companies that make personal ear protection by making molds, I do know about them, but that is way more $$$ than I want to spend. The majority of my hunting time is spent with a crossbow so that is why I was hoping this product would do what it was advertised to do at this price point. I ended up just buying another pair of Howard Leights for when I do an occasional gun hunt. They have always worked solidly and I was just trying the AXIL out to see if they would work and cut down on the bulk at the same time. I am glad they work for some people, but I found the product that I purchased to not be very good in function or quality. Thanks for watching!
