Hey axial, remember when you made the umg 10 6x6 and it was only in production for about a year before you discontinued it because of all the problems and pulled the rug out from under your customers who bought it? I'm one of those guys, thanks! I remember when axial wasn't part of the Horizion monopoly machine.

I put your umg10 body on it using a 10.3 front and 10.2 back frame. Seemed like the right thing to do.

As someone just starting to get into crawlers, I am very happy and will pick one up soon. I just recently picked up the Sendero HD but if I knew about this sooner....

The Sendero HD is a good truck, my friends been running one for a while, he beats that thing hard and nothing has given up yet, stock tyres are pretty poor, other than that it's a really nice rig. I'd have that over this Axial, or the trash TRX4, which rolls over when you turn it on :D

@@MrAkatango25 Traxxas is a terrible company to support if you're a rc enthusiast. Look into the shady tactics they use to bully competitors and even put them out of business. I'll never buy a Traxxas.

@EVERYONE WHO HAS POSTED A NEGATIVE COMMENT Rc is a hobby, you have a hobby to have fun, I had a cheap knockoff trx4 from china and was smiling ear to ear whenever I took it out to play. It doesn’t matter if it is bad, if you don’t like it, make it good.

With the all the weight moved backwards which will definitely make it terrible at crawling. The gearbox is a totally new design that shares no parts with other Axials... So there won't be any parts available... What a waste of development money

@@beenrudy better in what way? Definitely not performance. I don't even like this Axial, think it looks shit and seeing the prices in the UK (around $540 after exchange) it's way overpriced too. Would still have it over a TRX4. I think they failed with this one though.

@@nj2033 weight low, is more important than weight forward, they most definitely could have lowered that motor, but moving it to the skid plate is really no problem whatsoever. Would rather have the OG 3 gear style trans in this.

I’ve been waiting for something, maybe a gladiator or wrangler, with locking/unlocking diffs + 2 speed, this is the wrong direction lol. Love Axial but Traxxas has more aftermarket options

If you want locking diffs get a trx4. Axial axles are the best for comps and we don't need the weight of difflock servos in our builds, thank you.

For me personally, I don’t like the complexity of diff locks and a two speed, they’re not something that helps with crawling. If you want to go fast, get a slash. I like the simplicity of the 3 gear, and I’m happy to see it in the SCX10-III. In my opinion, the original SCX10-III transmission was not as good as the 3 gear. It put the motor too high, it wasn’t geared low enough, and the dig didn’t work very well. I like the direction that Axial is taking the SCX10-III with this release.

Man the hate is serious in these comments lol. Entry level stuff has a place in the hobby but I have to agree with others that Traxxas already crushed it with their Sport model which has been out for 4 years and your charging more than them with a much simpler body. Keep developing the SCX6 offerings (cough kit form cough) and IMHO you'd make a killing offering a good 6x6 kit in 1/10 scale. 🤟

Horizon, are you listening? Seems like most people that are saying good things are the ones who got free units to review, or are ok with anything Axial, but a good majority remains unimpressed and disappointed.

You guys were leading the industry, everyone was building parts for your rig. Your platform was winning everything. Then you threw it all in the garbage for gismo tech. The Ecto kicked your butt. This is better than the first release of the 10-3, but to little to late. The 10-3 convinced me to build a G-Speed. Quit trying to compare with trax ass. They've never won any comps. Oh well, have fun.

They threw it all in the trash by selling to Horizon. The head of axial left Horizon and has been at redcat for a few years now. All the things he wanted to do to axial that horizon penny counters wouldn't let him do he is now doing at redcat

UMG please!

Like lots of other people here, we've been waiting quite a long time for the next SCX10 release. Hoping for a nice looking body to the SCX10 chassis with some classic Axial magic that made us prefer Axial over the other companies (i.e. the UMG10 body or the early bronco body or even the first Trail Honcho). But now this has dropped... Feeling a little disappointed. It's a bit generic and featureless. That said however, perhaps it'll attract a new crowd as this new generation of crawlers are getting more and more expensive. Hopefully sooner than later, Axial will come out with the next metaphoric "UMG10" again.

The UMG10 was just a one off thing. Unfortunately, you won't see another one from Axial. Mainly because Horizon looked at the sales figures and compared to other models it did not sell very well.

I don’t know about some of these brand name RCs, most are junk and really all they doing is getting discounted junk and throwing it into a so called rtr that the motor esc servo gears f up, either 1 or all of them things, better off building these days, these big companies sold out and sold you out!

Realism is not perfect, but axial is still a good product.

Why so many negative comments? This is my favorite SCX10-III yet! My momma told me that if I couldn’t say something nice, not to say anything at all!

On this forum, you say stuff hoping the big guys will listen to what the people want. And a lot of us don't want a bunch of fiddly gismo tech stuff that doesn't work with the aftermarket. We want something capable on the trail. To make this one work, you're going to have to get rid of two inches of rear bumper and bed. Have a nice day.

TRX sport copy? anyway, body is... beurk, tires still too big to match scale, look like mud-bug.... what scale? 1/10? Never! Seems that no one is able to divide the reality by 10.... hopefully, chassis do not suffer from critics.

Moved the weight (gearbox and battery) back, all new gearing parts so there won't be any support straight away, and more expensive than a super capable TRX-4 Sport.... No thanks.... What a waste of development money.
