The 1/10 scale Axial® SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler 4WD kit marks the next step forward in scale off-road action. While continuing to incorporate key components that have made SCX10™ vehicles successful, the SCX10™ III increases chassis realism with details that include a replica V8 engine to house a front-mounted 540 motor. It’s mated to a realistic transmission housing and transfer case, like a 1:1 vehicle.
The kit’s versatile transmission can be built in several ways. If you’re using a 3-channel radio like the Spektrum™ DX3™, you can set it up with a third-channel DIG function that lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for front wheel drive and a tighter turning radius. Another 3-channel option is to set up the vehicle with a two-speed transmission to select between high and low speeds. To have access to the two-speed transmission and DIG function simultaneously, just add another servo and use a radio with at least four channels (such as the 5-channel Spektrum™ DX5).
The SCX10™ III Jeep® JL Wrangler kit uses portal axles to improve performance by increasing the ground clearance and reducing torque twist. Its standard battery tray accepts full-size standard LiPo or NiMH packs. There’s also space on the side rails for drivers who prefer “shorty” packs. Inner fenders and floor sides hide internal components that would usually be visible from the side of the chassis.
To top off the chassis, the kit comes with a clear Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited four-door body that’s ready for finishing however you like. Scale details include a roll cage, front hood vents and cowl, windshield wipers, mirrors, door handles and more, plus a detailed interior. New taller and wider, officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on 3-piece licensed KMC Machete beadlock wheels add more scale realism and more grip on dirt, rocks, and all other off-road trails.

@grandpa_6.7 depends on mods, out of the box they are very similar. Traxxas proformance is very good once you get a fusion, but the ax10 looks 10x better and you can barely tell the difference. Honestly the axial might be better stock esp for the price it's Def a win
You guys need to do one with either a 4Runner body or an international scout or truck!

Any chance of getting an axle mount servo plate? I like performance first and the scale looks, second. Cudoss on the new axles!!! I love the new ring gear with all the extra screws holding it to the locker!!! Oh and the portal axles raising the center of gravity, I can live with running shorter tires. Have to drop the C.G. somehow. 😎

tires make it look like a toy but still gangsta. portals seem silly now that the hype for them died. could have made it a gladiator but i bet you guys will come out with a gladiator one soon. dont be like proline and make it for the 12.3 wheelbase. make ti for longer trucks so it looks good for once

They missed the perfect opp to have the Jeep JT body. Fucked it right up as per usual. TRX4 still superior.
Axial! I'm a RTR buyer for reasons of lack of space, workbench, and associated appurtenances. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my RTR Capra but don't compete and have zero descent obstacles where I drive it to need the DIG. I, therefore, HATE the DIG feature for its unneeded complexity and its tendency to erroneously activate even though I have fashioned a guard on the controller that completely blocks my thumb from unintentionally OR intentionally depressing its buttons on the controller. For the same reasons I'm a RTR buyer I have not attempted to dismantle my Capra to permanently defeat the DIG system from within. PLEASE!! If/When you offer a RTR version of the new SCX10 III PLEASE do so leaving the DIG as well as the 2-speed transmission as a modification that the individual buyer can install later at THEIR discretion. I would be one of the first on line to purchase a SCX10 III RTR if/when offered, But NOT if it's overly complex with superfluous gimmicks making it problematic to maintain. K I S S !!!

I bought the capra rtr for the simple fact it had all same features and components. Had it been like rtr rcs of the past where it's not I woukdve had to spend more money to have the same rc unfortunately time and money is a factor of my life and most importantly my leisure time. No way man " better?😀👍💯

@@douglaselliott8298 it's very easy to block off the dig on vehicle itself . That being said it's not just used for decend, it will increase your turning axis, you should practice using I bet you will like it

@@paulclancy2404 I'm savvy to its bettering the turning radius, but it's simply not needed for my driving needs. I affixed a guard on the controller to keep my thumb from accidentally activating it, but it still does occasionally because of the digital WiFi headphones I wear when driving it in my home's rock garden. And then it won't de-activate without disconnecting the battery from the ESC and counting to 10 before re-connecting. You're the second person to advise "blocking off the DIG" on the vehicle itself, but there are no instructions as to how to even access it. I gave the practical reasons I purchase RTRs. I want to RUN it! I don't want to disassemble it on a 200sqft bedroom floor the first Gd month of ownership.
Tires are too big. 42's is not a good standard on slightly modded 1:1 jeeps. I think scale 38's would have been a better choice. But the rig is awesome, I skipped the scx10 ii and will hit up the 3rd generation for sure. I do like the KMC's, but I do wish the detailed body was an 80's jeep. Too many Rubicons out there already. Or at least do the 2 door for crying outloud, 'are we going to the mall after this mom'
Tires are to big for the body
Put the trx4 bronco body on it then were talkin'!!! Hell a pinto body would be better than a dumb jeep.
