With consideration of qualified privilege, due to public interest, regrettably I must say that this model of jacket is the worst. I have a thorough understanding of how body armour should properly fit since as part of my profession I wear ballistic type IIIA soft body armour for 12 hours a day, 44 hours a week plus I worked for an engineering company that built mobile expandable armour systems. Anyhow, this jacket causes a great deal of discomfort under the arms. I have an athletic stature and provided custom measurements, and still, the fit of the jacket is awful. This jacket is designed for people who are shaped like pencil. Honestly, it is my opinion that this jacket should be taken off the market or brought back to the drawing board.

Thanks for the detailed info, great review! I had a question though, would you recommend this (or the 350N + Plastron maybe) for longsword tournaments?

I don't know if it's the best jacket, but for sure is the coolest. No doubt.

The size is custom, but I am not taller than in 2018 so I suppose the jacket is longer by default ;-)

Stuck between this and the Kaftan, not sure which to get.

does the inside collar still have problems with fraying from the velcro like the 350n model?

With the new AP light Plus 350N they added the same padding on the chest and collar bone as the ap light NG 800N. Would it in your experience be more worthwhile buying the ap light plus 350N instead of the AP light NG800N now the padding on the chest and collarbone is the same? Considering heat and protection and seeing the AP Light Plus 350N has been updated? The ap light Plus 350n seems to be fairly the same jacket as the ap light NG 800N except for the biceps protection and the difference in newton rating?

@@DecoyJayc The 350n is underneath the fabric. After my mesage 11 months ago I have bought the AP Light plus 350n and find it a very nice jacket. No tears of the outer layer yet.

@@mirohradsky Yes i like the light AP 350, it is lighter, less heat and doesn't require break in to be fexible. I do advice to use extra armour protection on the arms and shoulders. (but many use that with heavy jackets as well)

How do you think it compares to the new spes officer?

The officer is basically an AP without the additional padding options, or just a tiny bit more protective. So this one is better suited to spar at medium to high intensity

I really don't like this jacket. It is not suitable for people who have muscles. Especially in the chest and back. The design of this jacket digs into my under arms. I even went with custom measurements. If you are shaped like a pencil, then it might be fine for you, but for me, the fit is terrible and I consider it a mistake that I bought it.....
