I've gotten to handle one of the Malleus Martialis Flos Two Handed Estocs and I found it to be extremely light. So light in fact, it felt even lighter than most sharp swords I've handled!

Very good review. I checked the website, but did not see the Liutger. I am guessing that this sword is not yet available? Also, do you know if Malleus Martialis has a US importer?

Not every product made by MM is already on the website, this guys and making many new work projects, so I would advice to contact them if you are interested in this sword. But I bet it will be added more or less soon on the website anyway.

I have looked on his site, as I have ordered many Del Tins, located in Italy also. Malleus Martialis makes some beautiful side swords, the colorful grip choices are a Wonderful option. Is Italy still shipping to the State's due to the whole Pandemic?

Their Replica stuff is awesome too. In swordphysics terms at least above deltin. And id say in Looks also. :P You Italiens make great blunt and butterknife "Sharp" swords. Cause of strict Italien Blade law. Theres a german saying describing this Situation perfectly: "Aus der Not eine Tugend machen."

Two different weapon makers, not speaking with each other, told me that this sword is worth half ot its price, when they saw it :D And well, comparing it with my Aureus longsword, which was similar price, Liutger is really poor quality for its price; speaking about weight distribution, edge thickness, flex distribution.

I’m going to receive two SIGI arming swords in a few months, I’ll wait that to compare. That said, it is better than my previous one by far, so I’m happy. The only thing which bothers me it’s a problem with the pommel, which seems kind of a standard issue in many malleus (it’s not wel fixe on its place) which for the price isn’t that good at all.

Off topic I know; however, any chance you could do a video on why you chose Fiore? I would guess that being a native speaker of Italian factored in...but, are there other reasons? Am studying the German tradition & sometimes see some advantages in your videos.

I will definetly get a Sigi King for my replica sparing sword, however I think there is noting wrong with non historical blade optimized for safety. In fact I would rather see more shilteless feder than dangerous very stiff blunt swords.

@Coronal I had similar concerns but the leather rainguard on my Aureus longsword feder has not taken any visible damage after several months of sparring at least twice a week. Full speed against feder as well as drilling and moderate sparring against blunts.

@@ignacynowicki3275 I wasn’t sure if their was an official name for it other than a leather or a leather guard or something. I’ve seen depictions of them before and I had always been under the assumption that it was to keep moisture out of a scabbard or sheath.
