As long as I can bring in water to replace what I use from my 20 gallon tank and fuel for my generator, I can stay off-grid indefinitely. However, I would really need to install solar panels if I plan to go off-grid for an extended length of time.

The best fire safety is the one that prevents them. all electrical could go in fire proof enclosures. Everything well fused so it prevent overloads. I would not have gas inside the trailer the water heater needs to be outside. Good smoke alarms is another item that gets overlooked. skip the smoke alarms that you buy at Walmart or other big box stores. A rear window would be nice to look outside and to let natural light inside, it could double as an escape to the outside.

Thanks for being so thorough. Sold me on the composting toilet and definitely gave me some inspiration for the plumbing.

Do you do rebuilds for other people? $$. 😃👍

Sorry, but I do not. It would be too expensive because the cost would double with labor.

But maybe we want to pay you for your labor and expertise! ?? I sure would. But I would help too and buy all of the materials myself, maybe that would cut down the cost of your labor?

I've had several other people ask that as well. One big issue is that we most likely do not live near one another and I wouldn't want to travel as I already do a lot of that.

For someone that's in between jobs, how much would it cost to build one of these? I sure wouldn't mind putting one like this together for sale. I'm pretty handy and like the idea of building one. We have a 40' gooseneck that we plan to build out in the next few months. I think it'll be cheaper than getting an RV and my wife gets it EXACTLY how she wants it.
