Besides a scholarship, you should apply for a job, from your home country. If you spend lots of money to got to Germany, without the proof to have a job, that is very risky. If you do it from your home country, where you are safe, it is much more secure and when you found the right employer, that employer will help you with the process, with the travel and to find an accomodation. The employer may even pay for the travel. And at some point, you should learn German, the earlier, the better. The day to day language is German, and even if most Germans speak and understand English, all documents, adverts, the talking around and even the TV- oder radio program is in German. And you will get much easier into contact with Germans, when you speak their language.

Hello, The host university doesn’t charge fees. So DAAD covers other things like stipend, Accomodation and travel allowance
