I've got an SnS but can't help to think that this kinda thing would give me more space to put stuff down to BBQ up as well. Maybe it'll come to Canada sometime and I can try it out! Love my SnS for chicken and smoking but wanting more space without going dedicated smoker... This gives me thoughts!

How does spider compare to a fire board with fan? Very disappointed with spider grills pellet grill attachment I bought as a kick starter. Maybe the tenth time I used I had a fire start in the hopper, paint melted and couldn't trust it, had to pitch it

How much room between the diffuser and cooking grate? Did you put water in the drip pan? If so did it boil and steam out? Like it does on diy/weber version. Have you tried it without the venom? I know its taller. But its smaller in diameter. So does this hold more charcoal then weber version? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for your reviews and input.

@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thanks, I purchased the charcoal ring. I'm relatively new to BBQing. I've helped big pits as a volunteer. Have several bbqer now. Give it a try. Have lots of books. I've been some BBQ methods on KZread since CV. Didn't know there is so much on KZread. Chicken, horizontal, vertical, rotisserie, beer can, etc. Some one could put it all together to determine tenderness and flavors. Probably not much depends on spices, I figure? 🖖🫕

I just received my kit. I was setting it up for the morning, when I saw the divider attached to the ring. When would you use the divider? I saw you didn't use it during the minion method. That's what I was going to use in tomorrow's pork butt cook. I wasn't planning on it having a divider.

Do you think you could use this with one of the pizza oven ring attachments to get really hot indirect heat for a pizza cook? With a pizza stone on top of the grill grate the double indirect with an airgap might just be perfect.

Does the Spider Grills Venom use pulse control to turn the fan on/off constantly to control temp, or is the fan speed controlled with a PID loop and basically varies speed instead?

I mean I just gave away my 22" kettle to my Sister and Brother in law, but no worries I have the Weber Summit Kamado and I bet this Venom is not compatable though with that.....but I am thinking about getting a controller for it regardless. It comes from the factory with a plugged hole for that purpose so I am not out anything by adding that on. I deff enjoy your reviews Tom. Thanks for sharing about the Venom.

Remember Nick the Venom only works on 3 legged 22” Weber kettles. Not sure what you green Beauty is…

Looks like they only provide a ceramic vs stainless steel deflector. So this is definitely a downgrade as ceramic can crack.
