Why the liquitex glaze after the UV resin instead of before? Doesn't that dull down the resin also? Great tutorial btw!

That's a great point! I ended up losing more of the blue color after the resin layers than intended. The post resin glazes (with the Prussian blue) was a reaction to wanting more color, not a part of the original plan. Liquitex ink is pretty glossy/satin out of the bottle so I didn't think the difference in finish was noticeable. However, in retrospect I think it would be smart to brush on a layer of gloss both for a unified finish and protection, because inks can be a little fragile. Great question!

@@TheHobbyCollab : Could one mix inks (acrylic? alcoholic?) with the UV resin?
Dropped the coldest paint tutorial like no one would notice
I’m drooling.. best scheme I’ve seen on KZread in awhile 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love this, my slaves to darkness are frost death knight themed and I picked up some UV resin to try something like this on the bigger models. Happened across this tutorial from the Banners of Chaos project on reddit. Waiting for Abraxia and the next 3 to arrive now.
This is absolutely stunning. I'm definitely going to give this tutorial a try. Amazing work.
Congratulations on 3,000 subscribers.
Its really incredible what the resin does on this: its really surprising to me how few content creators use different materials - even like mod podge or liquitex! I've only seen a couple that even do different varnish finishes for different surfaces (matte over everything then like satin on metals). Liquitex gloss with fluorescents is my favorite method for fancy effects.
Dooooooooooooooooood. This is so good. The resin ice skate step is my favorite. Great job, Cire.
This is great Cire.
Incredible!
This is sooooo Coooooool 🥶❄️
Holy crap. I never considered using UV resin like this.

Yes, absolutely!
My dude, you are destined for more views & subs! This is so cool! (like ice 😅), I'll be learning a whole lot from you, I think! Easy sub from me & best of luck on your KZread journey, amigo! 😁
You can clean UV resin off your brush using Isopropyl Alcohol.
Oh, now I need UV resin and UV torch (flashlight)! Thanks for the money I'll lose on this!!! =-P

I agree. The best ice armor I've seen!
Would using a silicon brush or silicon tool be an alternative to sacrificing a brush? In theory, you could just pull the cured resin off afterwards.

I havent tried it, so Im hesitant to give a firm answer. I think the resin would also ruin the the silicone if Im being honest though.
Would this work on smaller scale chaos warriors?

Absolutely!
What's the reason for choosing UV-resin over a gloss varnish?
@TheHobbyCollab

Resin is quite thick, almost like a glue. When it dries it gives a ton of "dimension" to the model, wheras gloss varnish dries flat against a surface.
Which uv resin did you use here?

@@morrisonnolan5687 Im sorry, I dont have any first hand experience with other brands. I have heard that the ones used in nail art are comparable, but I cant say for certain.
Is this 28 mm scale?

I dont think Ill make a video for it, but I can tell you how Id do it. Instead of airbrushing blue, Id use 2-3 different rattlecans of varying blue and grey hues. Once dry, Id glaze on some turquoise paint with a brush to smooth out the transitions. Then continue on as in the tutorial to the drybrush and resin etc. Another method would be to stipple the blues on with a round brush and thinned down blue paints. It would be a little less smooth, but it would probably still look awesome! Sorry for the late reply!
