That's kind of unfair, he likes them, but his loan car his a Jaaag. He just reviews cars and says what he thinks. I've had a Beemer and they're pretty good - but so are a lot of other cars.

A few years back I owned a black 2004 Boxster S. Almost 200'000kms on the clock, yet still running flawlessly. I redid the suspension, replaced the IMS bearing, put a short shifter and a catback system on it and had a hoot. Drove it in winter in the mountains, and even took it camping to the south of France, because it had plenty of luggage space. I can fully recommend them. Wonderful cars for the money.

@@4wdsome444 no... it's a boxer engine. So it's a flat cylinder arrangement. Yes they both have 6 cylinders, but not in the same orientation. Completely different.

One of the things I love in the UK is car prices! You guys are SOOOO LUCKY! In the rest of Europe if someone is to buy a descent boxster should expect to pay at least 10.000 euros just for the base model with low to mid mileage.

The engine sound of 986S that kicks in 7~8K RPM is freaking orgasmic. Hard to put it in words. Gotta hear it in person. Even this video doesn't do it justice.

By that logic then the Subaru Impreza should be called the Subaru Boxsaloon.

4/5 k is going to get you a high mileage one with loads to do!! Better spending a bit more and getting a sorted one with nice miles!!

Awesome presentation on the Box. A couple years ago I was shopping around for either a 986 or s2000, something convertible and fun to enjoy during the summer months. Ended up with a black 1999 986 and have been in love with the car since. Awesome package in a such a tiny 2 seater car and the Porsche community is 1 of the best. Now on the lookout to replace my daily driver with a Panamera or Macan.

Yaass I went through all of the affordable cars for young people and the last one was uploaded 22 november 2017 and I was wishing for another ep and the next morning I guys make it come true. Keep the great vids coming.

Yeah those 986 Boxsters are amazing. Underappreciated and unbelievable fun. You can do small adjustments like mod the intake, add sports exhaust and upgrade the brakes slightly for a small amount. Like drving a street legal go-cart. Love mine!

It’s about time a big KZreadr covered the 986. Everyone knows the 996 is a great deal but completely ignore the 986. I purchased my 2003 a couple years ago as daily driver and I couldn’t be more satisfied. For 8-14k you cannot beat it in terms of build quality, sound, and reliability. The only problem is once you own a Porsche it’ll change your perspective and expectations for cars forever.

i own a porsche 986 boxster with a 2.7 liter engine from 2003. it's a great car, i owned a bmw e36 before which also was great but i prefer the porsche every day of the week.

I could afford either a Boxster or a 944 as a 26 year old student. I went with the 944 in the end and I absolutely love it. Only thing the Boxster beats the 944 in is that flat-six howl. But the 944 does have pop up headlights and where I'm form cheap tax & insurance because its a classic.

In Uruguay 🇺🇾 the Boxster It’s for sale at about U$S 51.000 with about 40.000 km of use. Car taxes here are up to %110, our “affordable brand” is always some chinese piece of crap.

I looked it up and in Europe you can't find a good one under 12.000 euros. Most of the decent ones are over 15000. It's just not worth it at that price

986 boxster ...awesome balance , poise , adjustable even when you exceed it's high limits .You can go into corners as fast as you dare and it just shrugs it's shoulders as if to say is that all you got ? Exceed the limits and it works with you to get you out of trouble .Best handling car I have ever owned and I have owned dozens of fast cars .Induction noise is lovely especially with the roof down (which adds another dimension to the driving experience) brakes are perfect .Go for a 3.2 s .No sat nav , no traction control , no bluetooth , just a old school mechanical connection with the driver .If it was a plane it would be a world war 2 spitfire , you just become part of it . Reliable and fun , just the right safe side of fast , had mine 3 years , never missed a beat and makes me smile every time I drive it hard . Only people who ever slate them are people that have never driven one .Keep an open mind and be impressed .

Hey bro, I've been watching your videos for a while... Probably since the M3 videos or the BMW driving school... pretty sure that was you. I just want to say that you're doing a great job! I liked the comparison you did of a car guy vs a not- car guy! So you know, I drive an E90 M3 and I also have a Smart Fortwo Electric drive for the city, since I live downtown (Toronto). I'm a huge German car fan, particularly BMW and Porsche. I have love for the VW group and Mercedes Benz too, but not the same way I love BMW and Porsche. To be honest, I didn't respect the boxter enough, especially in the 986 days, since I'm not a big convertible/ roadster fan, and those dumb front lights on the boxter and the 911 (996) in that time period, however the Cayman Chassis and its round lights make my heart smile! I always thought I would buy a 911 when I'm ready to buy a Porsche, but the new Caymans, especially the GT4 are very capable! We'll see what happens. I may never grow out of M3 territory, money-wise... LOL! But if I do, I'll let you know what I got. How's your E36? Still have it? When I move out of the city one day and actually have space to keep a few cars, I'd like to have an E36 and an E46 M3, next to my E90! I doubt I'll be able to afford an E30, now that prices have skyrocketed... I definitely won't be buying your lemon, but if I find a good Euro spec E36 for a decent price, I'll snap that up and bring it over to Canada for sure! Have a good one!

I bought a Deathadder Chroma mouse in PC World in March 2016. Since then the scroll wheel light fades after a couple hours of on time until it is completely out. In addition to this, the right mouse button has somewhat broken, and only needs a couple of grams to activate it. Could I potentially get a replacement?

Great cars the Boxsters. A relative had one as their first Porsche, a lot of car for the money.

I own a BoxsterS. Great car. Mine has the 18" Turbo wheels and custom fabricated exhaust to give it that Proper Porsche sound. Can be a bit droney, but get it past 4k rev and it is epic!

My mum has a 2005 boxster S and it's really strong. She's never had it serviced in the 7 years she's owned it and it still runs great.

I sold my 996 Carrera C2 and bought a Boxster 3.2s. Never regretted it or looked back. I bought an e92 M3. The Boxster is still with me the M3 is gone! Fantastic cars and excellent value as a fun weekend toy.

Still reliability would be a major concern ...

That time i smoked a Boxer S in my wrx wagon ... the face on that guy ...priceless
