Got to love a good NA... a turbo can never match that instant response and linear power... even if it is faster.

Maybe, but turbos have gotten pretty good now. If you drive the newer generation M cars, it is hard to see any lag at all compared to the naturally aspirated predecessors. Perhaps the noise is effected adversely, but there are ways to get round that. The MK3 ST which is my daily sounds great and (once remapped) produces 507 nm or torque-which is more than the new Audi RS3. So NA and turbo have their advantages.

Ben Cook I had an EP3 Type R a few years ago, now I have an m135i and it easily matches the throttle response and has perfectly linear power delivery up to around 6500 rpm. The Type R felt gutless around town, you don't get anywhere until the v-tech comes on which compares to some pretty bad turbo lag. Don't get me wrong, the Type R was a lot of fun and the engine was great but while the throttle response might have been instant you're still left waiting for the revs to build before you take off.

staggabob I'm a turbo guy so don't mind my bias, but I firmly believe turbo'd cars have far more tune ability with powerband. I honestly don't see the reason not to be boosted.

Some nice footage there, good to see the drone getting an outing! That EP3 sounds incredible at the crossover, really aggressive, it put a smile on my face too 👍

Havent seen a review in a while. Nice work mate. Its good to see a clean and well built car and not something that was just throw together.

An engine the size of a backpack is capable of this... N/A! The K20 is no doubt the greatest engine ever, even stock it is a perfect engine. Honda's engineering skills really did prove to be absolute, no honda hater can hate the engine in this video, a car enthusiast really appreciates this build!

Wonderful that the EP3 is still getting some love. I've got a 2002 and still modifying 15 years later! Cheers.

Hi luc how many miles does your 02 have on it? I've got an 02 aswell with 153k and its bulletproof. I've had a 54 grey, 04 black, 03 red and now again a 02 black

You might be even more amazed to learn that a larger variant of this engine family with extensive $$$ thrown at it with no stone unturned can make 550+ hp. 2.7L, 16:1 compression, race gas, a head that flows over 400 cfm, 106mm stroke, over 10000 rpm, 70mm ITBs, 550hp naturally aspirated.

From what I can remember Prayoonto racing has the record, I believe they have went 158mph through the 1/4 mile at 1700 lbs. Using an online calculator it estimates about 540whp or 628 flywheel horsepower

I have a 54 plate type R with 44k miles on it. Same induction kit as this. Just purchased a DC Sports exhaust Manifold and a Skunk2 megapower RR exhaust to go with it!! Can’t wait to hear the end product!!!

The intake manifold hes running thats why im 249 all motor no nothing cams or piston and would smack that car

Gin R hey I've got one here in the US with a K24a2. People think their slow because of the k20a3. Once you swap that motor it wakes the whole car up.

The gearknob only looks awkward. If you ever drive one you’ll quickly realize it’s probably the best placed manual shifter ever.

2.1 liter. That is a 88mm bore on stock stroke. How much bore can a stock K20 handel before you have to sleeve it? I'm on full bolt ons with drop in cams. Next stap is engine and head rebuild. But first things first... One day, i promise :) Greetz from Holland!
