    @Wogboy I had my garage broken into one time and my truck models stolen(about eight of them) and one 1/48 B-29 busted up and left in the neighbors yard. For those who didn't grasp the message, its about attachments. The more material positions you feel like you need to own ends up owning you. At the end he only cared about 1 thing and it was destroyed and it allowed him to let go of all his positions and finally be free. When he decides to do it all over again it represents the crab not learning from his mistakes and must learn from them once again.

  • @DB-gl3jx

    @DB-gl3jx

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Lazekillerwhale The main message is “human bad nature good”. How do you not understand the message that this film is trying to send? It’s clearly trying to imply that human tourists (or just humans as a whole) have damaged numerous natural wonders over the past few decades. Humans litter, they destroy the environment to build houses and other buildings, humans disturb the environment around them through noise and light pollution, they disturb the creatures in the surrounding environment. Nature is not actively harming anyone. Interpretations of texts are often subjective, but your interpretation is clearly erroneous in the sense that it’s not what the author portrayed at all.

    People die in nature all the time. It isn’t out to get humans, it just does what it does and people die. I thought the metaphor was pretty obvious, since it’s barely even a metaphor. It’s almost surface level in terms of how hidden it is. A crab gets used by humans as a platform for their society, he can’t move or do anything, the water turns green, and humanity collapses when nature does. Then the cycle starts again.

    I see it as a lesson pertaining to how people allow others to place burdens on their backs that aren't really for them to handle, and letting it go on without checking it leads to your own personal life falling apart, and sometimes great sacrifices must be made; sometimes by making yourself smaller, in a sense, and just working towards your own self instead. You cannot help others without first helping yourself. But the other analogy works just as well.

    this is how this particular species of island crab procreates. they need a lot of time to gestate eggs and even more bio mass as energy requirement. notice how there was a jump in the age of the big crab after it broke under the weight of the city: the crabs only ever break if the city above has grown big enough to house an amount of people that would fill up the last "mothers feast" of an elderly crab. then, after a brief timeskip, all that energy is converted into one or maybe more eggs that would hatch in vivio and consume the mother from the inside, propagating the destruction of the island and enriching the ocean floor with the last stragglers of the drowned isle. now the cycle may start again.
