This song brings tears to my eyes, it was one of the three first Skillet songs I have ever heard. When I turned six years old, I was allowed to use the computer totally by myself. I would search for different songs to listen to, and once, I came across “Monster”, it was actually a double feature with “Hero”. And I really liked them, and because I listened to them so much, KZread recommended “Awake And Alive”. I listened to the songs for long hours every day.

Same, when I was a kid I would listen to hero and monster. At the time I didn’t know they were Christian, and neither my mother. She would get really mad at me for listening to their music. A few years later my mother told me they were Christian, and I was like “bruh”

After 12 years I have returned. Remember jamming to this in highschool back in '09. Good times, good times.

When i heard this song on the CD, I thought it was okay, but I didn't get why it topped the charts. But when I saw them live... Their energy, and their power and their awesome sound made it one of my favorite songs of all time.

I LOVE THIS BAND

I think personally this is the best skillet song!!! :) It gets me pumped up.

This makes me think of a dark character in a story realizing themself, and then joining the hero after years of separation to fight the villain who had manipulated them. I'm an author so I am totally gonna use this for inspiration.

this song will always be my anthem to God. telling Him that although i've gone away from Him in the past, this song will be like His rainbow in the sky. it'll be my covenant to Him that i will never stray from Him again.

I found my childhood once again... I used to always listen to this song on car rides when I was little, I miss those days, this was my favorite song in the world and will always have a piece of my childhood with it.

this was my favorite song in 7th grade, i havent listened to it untill now, still so good. such an inspiring song lol

I honestly didn't know they were a Christian group. I only first heard their music a year or so ago and I fell in love with their music. I just searched thema few days ago to learn more about them and saw they were a Christian rock group. I particularly don't follow a religion and I'm not an Atheist either but their music is just so freakin amazing. Their songs don't scream anything particularly religious and they just play amazing music.

***** thanks I'm having another family emergency again with my first cousin who has type 1 diabetes & with so much negative spiritual confusion in my family. Pray & ask Jesus to please delivery every soul in my family from negativity & make every soul in my family agree on the same thing without ever arguing or falling out about anything. My first cousin is going through filled with a lot of negativity. He's 23 going on 24 in June.
