Perhaps conspiracy theorists are correct and the New Avril is a look-alike (clone). Sounds crazy, but for me it makes more sense than lyme disease. After all, Lyme disease 'can' change someone's physical appearance, but voice, I'm not sure. Also, a person's voice gets deeper the more they age, not higher.

She changed around 2004.. voice, personality and mannerisms.. that's why the conspiracy theories exist
She said so herself *this early* that she doesn't like being labeled so it was really wrong for people to say that just cause she doesn't stayed in her skaterpunk get-up and changed her styles over the years and went more feminine that she "isn't the real avril" It literally came from her that she's human and she'd just want to be rather labeled as someone who goes out and be herself.. and I think she did as that as years went by :) Fans really need to tone down boxing artists in one label which restrict them to grow and explore themselves : / and guys.. she was only 17! So shut down the conspiracy theories cuz everything and everyone changes😂

@@mairah5758 that I don't agree with that. I have been thinking about it where Avril who I loved when I was 15 years old. People changed but not that much! Look at the way she is sitting on the couch. Yes, she was 17. And everyone now believes that she was punk rock and turned to the hello kitty pinky style. Nah. There are 2 pictures of her right in front of me one reminds me when I was 17 and the other one reminds me of my sister who has been waking up 7 in the morning and doing her makeup and straightens her hair. The way of their talking behavior, the way of their singing totally different. It's like a huge difference between my sister and me. I do have friends used to be punk rock girl and now they are about 35 and their style of course changed but when you look at it you will still see their business rock girl style. It became more clear to me when I heard 'I don't like being labeled' and we knew her depression that times that shows me that she's not anymore with us.
@taylormomsenssidehoe

@@sevcanuysal6351 Hello Kitty pinky style. Okay first of all, you guys really need to stop judging her by that one song! It was just to have some fun, plus it was a tribute-kinda thing for her japanese fans. Also, and I don't have the original video but it's in one of Juan Zubi's videos, Avril has allways liked Hello Kitty. She showed us a Hello Kitty phone when she made a video of her room and said she liked it. Her voice.This one I kinda understand how people get confused. But if you do more research, you'll find out that in Let Go era, Avril pushed her voice to sound deeper and more tomboyish. Britney Spears was big back then so in order to have Avril succeed, they had to turn her into some sort of anti-Britney. But then they found out that her singing technique, although succesfully deeper, wasn't healthy for her vocal chords so she got vocal coaching to get to her 'natural' singing. You can hear it in Under My Skin, some parts are still the Let Go singing technique, and in some parts you hear the natural voice shining through.

I compare Avril 2001 and today. And she's the same girl. ... If you compare celebs from teen years to their 40's they've completely changed. Avril changed the least. Look at Madonna, Britney, Gaga, Beyonce, completely different people. Avril still remained rock star to a certain level, and she never resorted to degen stuff, like Hanna Montana.
She was already a legend in her own time! ☺❤ And yes folks ... that IS the real Avril Lavigne there!

@@abegaildio3207 go watch an interview with Alanis when she released Jagged Little Pill and you tell me what do you think. Alanis had depth, she was articulate, her whole chain of thoughts and view on life was mature for a teenager, up to her vocabulary. She also knew a lot about the music industry and had great music influences and references, Avril couldn’t even pronounce David Bowie. As a lyricist she’s thought provoking and she bares it all. Avril was a teenager fever, Alanis wrote a timeless classic that helped shaped a style and defined an era.
When she said she wouldn’t sell her music with her body.... I have EVEN MORE respect than I already did for her. Women artists these days need to realize when your ass is the album cover... they aren’t buying it for the music...

This date is incorrect. Avril lavigne's first single was "Complicated" which dropped in Spring of 2002. Sk8er Boi was the second single which released in Summer of 2002. No one knew who she was yet in Jan. 2002 much less Jan. 2001 which this video is claiming. How did MTV get the date so wrong?!! 😂😂😂 A 30sec Wikipedia search would have found the answer.
