Sleeping on my back has helped me so much!! I used to regularly get nasolabial fold fillers ever 5 months. And had deep lines since at least my teen years, probably childhood as well. It’s genetic. But I haven’t had fillers done in 2 years, and have been sleeping on my back since then. I don’t feel the need to go back yet. I can’t say sleeping on your back will make the existing lines go away, but they will maintain what you have for much much much longer!

@@jajarounette95 I had a nose job so I was forced to sleep on my back elevated by pillows for 2 weeks. The first couple days were very strange and I kept waking up, but my body naturally understood it was impossible for me to sleep on my side. Since then I trained myself to sleep on my back. But there are pillows online designed to keep your neck straight and prevent you from moving to the side. Also big bulky headphones help as well. It takes training, but after a week you’ll get used to it and it’s worth it

I’ve been preaching this also for years. Since battling cancer and a brain tumor which caused severe inflammation (especially in the face). Sugar not only causes advanced glycation but also feeds cancer cells and causes inflammation. It was imperative for me to go cold turkey from sugar. I have overcome cancer and shrunk the brain tumor substantially.. plus, I look better than ever 😉. Thankfully with the keto revolution, there are many sugar free alternatives to foods and condiments, so eating is still enjoyable. 🥰 thanks for spreading this important information 🙏🏻

You can still eat sugar but in moderation. What causes premature aging and weight gain is overeating in general. Eating some sugar doesn't age you. The problem is people overeat. A lot of things are bad when you eat too much of them.

For medical reasons for years I have been on a low sugar, low carb diet (basically a modified paleo because I do eat cheese). Having a de-stress activity is key and highly important as well. When I was working in a high stress position, no matter what I ate, I could not combat the inflammation. As soon as I left that stressful position, I lost 10 pounds. It was causing inflammation and wreaking havoc on my digestion as well. You don't notice these things until they are gone and then you realize how slowly they had crept upon you.

@@Alex-mx6mu Yes. I worked as a paralegal for a partner and did litigation work for years. As his cases grew so did my responsibilities but he didn't want to grow his support team. Not only did 10 pounds come off, but my skin became brighter and my hair thicker. I used to also suffer from stomach pains and other digestive and intestinal issues, they all miraculously went away as well. And it was so noticeable that a year later I got together with some of my co-workers and they all commented that I looked 10 years younger. Stress ages you.

I know they say sugar is bad, etc. But so is stress. I can definitely say that stress was very bad for the nervous system. I had gained 40-50lbs during Covid/Quarantine. My husband and I weren't doing so well being together 24/7. My depression got out of control. My Dr and I tried many different meds. I eventually gave up. I should've gotten therapy but I was exhausted at nothing working. Everything was a mess. My depression was just too much for my husband. Oct 2021 he finally left me. I was devastated but I cannot tell you how I also felt such a relief. I didnt have to try anymore. I was beyond exhausted trying to prove my worth. Within 2 months I started losing weight. I ended up losing 50lbs. I was so much less stressed, even tho I was heartbroken. I felt so lost but more peaceful. I stopped needing my blood pressure meds. I did start therapy. But its crazy what stress does to our bodies. Unfortunately the weightloss was not kind to my face. At 46, it was not helpful to lose 50lbs. I have saggy skin and alot of volume loss. Im very upset about this. Ive aged 10yrs in such a short time. I look very unattractive. My clothes all fit great now but my face looks really bad. I dont even know what to do to help with all this volume loss. I look like a deflated balloon. How will I ever feel confident enough to get out there and date again at 47? I was beautiful the last time I was single :(

Thanks for another great insightful video Dr. Rajani! Apparently, when someone has cancer, sugar breeds cancer even more. I use stevia powder both in the liquid and powder form as a sweetener. And the more you avoid sugars from soft drinks, etc., I agree that you'll not only look better, you'll also feel better. And after refraining from sugar for awhile, usually for most people, can't tolerate and don't even like sugar the way they used to when they have something with sugar. It's also paramount that parents need to educate their children as well on the importance and reasons for avoiding sugar throughout life as much as possible.

I also make sure I get 20 minutes of exercise that causes heavy breathing and fast heart rate daily to reduce stress and give my skin a healthy glow. My photo is current and I am 70 and a great-grandmother. I strongly agree with avoiding all sugars and processed foods and the sun on my face. Beyond that, I exfoliate and use a Derma roller. Excellent as always Doc Rajani! 👌 Such great information you packed into this video. I was so fortunate to have had a father that taught me, from the beginning of my life, that refined sugar and processed carbs are our bodies enemies and will slowly rob us of our health and vitality. I recall that my father literally looked a healthy 40 at age 60, it was really amazing! I have been reading the ingredients of anything I purchase and staying clear of all those sneaky hidden sugars that the American food companies are now putting into absolutely everything they can! I stay away from the center aisle of the grocery store! You continue to be an excellent source of information and encouragement to all of us! Yes, we are all aging, but your following clearly wants to age with vitality! Aging with wisdom not wrinkles! Thank you 🙏🏻.

So I've decided to cut down my sugar intake and eat more good stuff like flax oil on my daily big bowl of salad, stinging nettle tea every evening with an apple and no more pizza. SPF 50+ is a must. Problem is if I start work at 6 am, no matter what time I go to bed I won't have enought sleep.

Acure daily sunscreen is a mineral sunscreen i use which doesnt have a greasy, sticky or more opaque white cast (like 100% pure)...it does 'brighten' tone and can feel a little tacky at first, (which is actually cool for priming before makeup) but it doesnt look casty like all the other mineral ones ive personally tried and is good on its own or under makeup. i also rate highly Mychelle dermaceuticals tinted liquid sunscreen 50+.. and i also heard that Sunbum have a great tinted mineral sunscreen and a mineral lotion sunscreen for the face of which im yet to try. they also do chemical sunscreens and have a full and pretty cute range. some of this brands selections is definitely more for the outdoorsy, hiking or watersports etc people which i like to use for those times. i do like their face 50+ for a chemical sunscreen, but i also prefer mineral sunscreens whenever possible for general daily wear or under makeup. hope this also helps anyone else out there.. these are definitely worth a try. thanks dr, i really enjoy your channel.

Cutting down on sugar significantly has made a big difference for me over all, I can really feel it, really the less sugar in my diet the better I feel and look, this does not include whole fruits, just as you mentioned Dr Raj, I eat fruits loaded in vitamins and antioxidants along with raw nuts and steamed eggs in the day and vegetables and protein at night, mostly plant based diet. People ask me what is my secret. The sugar really makes you tired and sick feeling over all too. Also I found they put sugar in salad dressing, so I look for ones without sugar and mostly make my own in an easy simple way that is inexpensive and not hard to do.

This is the best channel on KZread. Hands down. OBS: Love this topic! Sugar-sag isn't pretty. When A.G.E is haunting your skin, i have a good "antidote" a powerful supplement that protect the tissues from A.G.E- related damage. L Carnosine is a superb supplement to combat and prevent Sugar-sag. That said, you have to cut carbs. L-Carnosine is a clinical-proven supplement to protect your collagen, and connective tissues. Can you reverse A.G.E? YES with tissue-stimulators, microneedling to break down the cross-linked collagen in the skin. Sugar-damage is cumulative, and when the stiff collagen-fibers is exposed to UV rays (UVA), it breaks and create solar elastosis in no time. SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY!!! Here in Sweden Zink Oxide is forbidden, due to the nano-penetration in the skin, it is bad to the sea-life, ending up on coral reefs, and mess with the photosynthesis. In Sweden we have regulations around UVA-rays in Sunscreens. In general The spf, is in general a mark on the UVB protection. But not the UVA rays. Swedens regulation about sunscreens must be over 2/3 protection of the Spf. Brands lower than that is banned. I use chemical broad-spectum protection, against UVB,UVA,VISIBLE, H.E.V, IR-LIGHT. The brands: BE+, EVY mousse, La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMune 400. For example EVY mousse protect up to 96% of all UVA rays. And a application will stay for 6 hours. So cut down sugar, take l-carnosine, and a broad spectrum sunscreen. Avoid tanning, remember that uva rays go trough windows, thin curtains, so slap on sunscreen every morning.

For every carbohydrate molecule, you absorb 3 water molecules and water makes for beautiful skin. Drink enough water every day. Carbohydrates in less processed forms are good for you and add to longevity. Refined sugar is not a food, it is a processed refined carbohydrate - so reduce your consumption. I remember my Chinese and Korean students were appalled by people here in Australia drinking alcoholic beverages in the sun, as they believed it was extremely bad for the complexion Good food and sun protection is the key.
