Thank you for providing good quality info on zines. I started mine when I was 12, I’m now 18 and still run it, the issue with age restrictions was an issue for me and my friends, it is a feminist and anarchist magazine run by my Friend group of punks and riot grrrls, and some issues we made had cussing, info on how to make booze, the collages had some graphic things to say the least. I remember a parent at my brothers school approached me and she began to cuss me out, scream homophobic slurs at me and said to my friend “your not an artist young lady, your a fucking whore” she was 15, the fact she said that to a child made some parents go mad. And it was great to see the chaos unfold.

I've been having a bad case of artistic burnout but I've been watching your videos about zines for the last week or so and I've already made 3 mini zines and I'm currently working on a big zine about all the ice cream shops in my town! I've only made two zines so far, so I don't think I'm at trading level yet, but I learned so much from this video and the trading sites you linked helped me find a really awesome zine collective here in the UK (I paused your video and immediately ordered a zine from them - so excited!) Thank you for this really useful info, it is great to know as I begin my zine journey. I find it frustrating that a UK PO Box costs 50 USD per month, and we don’t have international flat rate stamps. I’m going to have to do some figuring out!

Hey Bre! Thanks for this! Since your PO box is posted is it ok to juat send ya zines or should I give a heads up? I only have trade experience from the couple zinefests I've been to (and i'm still awkward at it) but i find relating the zines you have to trade to the artist's work and interests they display is a really nice way to start a trade.

Are zines all about explaining things, talks about things and stuff like that? Or can we also have a drawn on zine, and it's basically mostly drawings, because I do that cuz i don't have any experiences i wanna make a zine bout, cuz most are boring

Zines are pretty much a booklet where you can share anything inside (this includes drawings too!) if you’d like a zine tour, I do one at the end of this video with zine examples. They are super fun to make and have no rules 😇⬇️ kzread.info/dash/bejne/nmmEo9GGpbuYeJs.html
